from start to finish this place kept on surprising us with details and deligbtful extras. as someone who notices detail, the scrumptious linen and towels, the kitchen additions could.plete with cake mixer and the best fridge and copper extras....mini treats in the decadent lounge and the ribbon on the keys....it was just all so delightful done with clearly an abundant heart wanting guests to have the very best experience. Robyn and Bruce welcomes us with open arms literally, despite us being held up and showed us around ck plate with history of this delightful place. gosb. hot to think of a reason to come back asap. thank you so much

As a group of 8 people we had a great time during summer here. The hosts were of great help when we had some “parking issues” with our trailer - they organized someone to pull us out of a ditch ;-) and that truly saved our vacation. That was amazing. Whatever was missing was quickly organized. Unfortunately an all-year fire ban on GBI meant we were not allowed to use the outdoor fire place, and since the nights get cold quickly we were looking forward to sitting in front of the outdoor fireplace in the evenings, which obviously did not happen. Also, the utility of the massive balcony is close to nil - it was either burning hot or freezing cold out there. In that regard, if you look at this place, consider that what you get is somewhat less than what you might expect from the pictures alone. Despite these drawbacks we would love to come back any time.

Our family had a wonderful stay! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and spacious—perfect for our toddler and dog. It’s set away from busy roads, making it feel like a quiet retreat, yet still conveniently located for easy access to the motorway and surrounding areas. We felt right at home and would love to stay again when we are back in Auckland!

We absolutely loved this beautiful historic home and immediately felt relaxed and comfortable. The staff were extremely discreet but available if sought out. We were impressed with the access to chickens and consequent fresh eggs, and small vegetable garden. On arrival the home had every set of French doors thrown open. It was airy inviting and thoroughly enjoyed throughout our stay. The Fitzroy Port area is a little remote from the busier Southern part of the Island but with a rental vehicle this was not a problem,. and there are a number of walks available within the area to not require a vehicle should one use not to hire one. Food is expensive on Great Barrier and it is recommended to stock up and take supplies in a chilli bin with you. There is a store on the Fitzroy wharf which is well stocked however, should you run out of your supplies. The property also has a jetty of its own and can be booked and used to moor your boat should you arrive by sea.

Beautiful surroundings house is immaculate the area was perfect, would I book this property out again most definitely 😍. Stunning sea view as soon as you wake up loved everything about it, my family and myself enjoyed our stay was also surrounded by beaches close to property and surrounding areas. Thank you Howard and Liz, highly recommend to others it’s a A+++++ from me and my family 🙏🏾

This place is amazing and beautiful. The house is very well maintained and as it looks in the pictures. The pool was clean and big and nice, hot tub was also great. The house is very spacious and has a great speaker system. Check in was easy and you truly have the entire estate to yourself. My only negative feedback was on the golf course. I booked this place so I could play golf and the course is unplayable. Still had fun hitting balls around but it’s not been well maintained. Also, the bbq wasn’t clean enough to cook on. Everything else was great.

I cannot say enough about how beautiful Gill's home is. The surroundings are so beautiful, short drive into town where you can find everything your looking for. Gill is such a wonderful and kind host, if you have a chance to visit her home, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making my son's wedding so special, so lucky to have met such a amazing woman.

The house is situated on top of a hill with a breathtaking view. Our families of 10 adults and 4 children spent four nights at the lodge. The house is like maze. Plenty of space for everyone. It's clean, fresh linen and towels and reliable wifi. The kitchen is very well equipped to cater for large groups. The outdoor BBQ and pizza oven were a bonus. Plenty of things for the kids too i.e. trampoline, table tennis, throwing darts and toys. Great communication from the host Daniel. He sent clear and easy to follow instructions a few days before our arrival. We want to go back again and would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic stay in Matarangi! Beautiful house with beautiful finishings. Very well equipped and had everything you could need. We loved the little touches of luxury everywhere. Super easy walk to the beach, we loved using the big beach trolley to get to and from with all the gear. Amazing location! We travelled over from Switzerland and loved everything Matarangi had to offer. A slice of paradise! Thank you for sending the belongings left behind! We hope to be back in the future! Thank you!

Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

Incredible location and home for a large group looking to spend time together. We were four adult couples and two toddlers. The space was perfect, having a bunk room and separate lounge for the little ones with enough bathrooms and privacy in different zones around the house. Direct beach access, quick walk to the local shop, cafe, playground and surfclub. Can't wait to come back!

A beautiful home that was well equipped for a busy Christmas Day with family. The outlook was simply breathtaking. We enjoyed the alfresco areas, playing pétanque and finding the tree swing. A simply beautiful retreat to relax and unwind.

Janine is a 'fully present', warm, unfussy - yet fully responsive - Host. There is a genuine relaxed nature about the home environment to which I felt completely welcomed to engage. The perpetual offer of tea, along with a friendly chat (if desired), was on-call at every turn - yet with zero-pressure to engage. It was one of those Airbnb experiences that strikes the perfect balance of being made to feel fully 'at home', while afforded the breezy, desired knowledge of being able to come and go as one pleases (without fear of disturbing anyone else). I will surely request staying again when back in Auckland (if Janine will have me). [Oh yes, there's also the charmingly elusive Rocky-the-cat, who will not be the least interested in your existence during your stay, (which I took as a direct challenge, and did manage to earn the occasional petting privilege). Being said, if cats are not your thing - not to worry, as Rocky will reflect your indifference with mathematical exactness!] 5 stars!

Thank You Daisy for an amazing stay, and making my husbands surprise 50th Birthday a huge success. The home is gorgeous and amenities were fantastic. Daisy was so helpful and accommodating to my requests to make the day go smoothly. Would highly recommend and look forward to booking again for Family functions.

We had a fantastic family holiday at Jeff’s place - such a spacious place in a peaceful rural setting with a lovely heated pool and conveniently located to everything Aucklands north shore has to offer.

Abi's home is a period style gem in a great neighbourhood. It is a particularly stylish house that also manages to hit that sweet spot of a very being comfortable and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and the living space is great, especially with the doors rolled back to make use of the outdoor deck. Being summertime in NZ, we took full advantage of the swimming pool, spending hours at a time chilling out there. The neighbourhood is perfectly located, with a supermarket and very appealing cafes and parks just a block away. Even better, it is only a 10 minute walk to the high street in Ponsonby where everything you could want is located in terms of shops, bars & restaurants. The kitchen is great and really well set up with everything you would need to cook a big family dinner which is exactly what we enjoyed. Abi was very gracious in all of her communications with us, being very flexible to our travel arrangements. This is the perfect stay in Auckland, with everything you need to either stay in and enjoy the space or get out and stuck into the cafe culture of Auckland.

We have had the most amazing time staying at the villa, it was even better than the photos. The house was absolutely beautiful, huge and had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable with beautiful linen, the kitchen had lovely tableware, an amazing coffee machine and everything we needed and the pool was just the best fun! Channy was extremely responsive to messages and made out check in and check out very easy. Thank you so much Channy we will definitely love to stay here again!

My family came to Auckland for a four day visit from Australia and say the house was HUGE, very spacious and the facilities that came with it really catered to their needs. The StayCare team were great and so quick with their responses. They ensured that our stay was good throughout right up until checkout. Definitely would recommend this place for those with big families or large groups of friends, they will not be disappointed 💯
