The only reason there is no 10/10 is that the house was hard to find at first. Incorrect address on Airbnb However, after we spoke to the host on the phone, he sent us the right one directly and even met us to collect us. This was very accommodating! He also opened a coconut from his own garden to welcome us to drink. The house and property were incredibly beautiful and welcoming, everything was spotlessly clean, and our room was our most beautiful yet. You live with the hosts in the house, but you have your privacy in the room! The highlight of the evening was a generously set table with many great homemade dishes for a small price (150 dong per person). We would definitely recommend the place!!

I had an absolutely magical time at Thuan's place and can't recommend it enough!! The home is tucked away in a peaceful and gorgeous corner of the Mekong Delta, with fruit and flower-filled nature all around. Thuan made every effort to ensure I was never bored but also had space and taught me tons about the local community. He took me on a bike ride through the countryside to observe the harvesting of coconuts, the way it is processed, the local temple and more. He took me to a local seamstress who made beautiful clothes thanks to his translations. And he took us on a multi-stopped boat tour through the delta, going from peaceful little waterways, down the main river, with dinner in a delicious restaurant on the waterfront. I also spent a lot of time with Thuan's American sister and her teen. They are so wonderful, so warm, welcoming, joyful and fun. And their love for and knowledge of Ben Tre is evident in everything they share. I feel very lucky to have stayed here. Highly recommend!

Blown away by this place. The Haven retreat turned out to be my favourite (of 14) places I stayed in Vietnam over 5 weeks. I should prefix I am a VERY fussy traveller so can be hard to please sometimes… Tan is the definition of hospitality- but more than that, we left as friends. He speaks genuinely perfect English which made sharing a joke and a wine (or 5) a joy, I learnt so much from him. Ask him about the history of the house, everything was built with intention, from the perfect placement of the lights to avoid light pollution, and his refusal to cut down certain trees (much to the frustration of his architect) because he wanted to keep the nature and the local fireflies. I ate there every night (3) cooking was perfection and all made to order. The dog Moka is adorable, but if you feed him at dinner time you will be his little servant at every meal (my fault…) It’s also a perfect place to hire a scooter as the nearby roads are safe and quiet. Be sure to try the beers X

I have never experienced such warm and sincere hospitality on Airbnb. Quan and his mother have conjured up delicious food every day – whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner – I've been thrilled every time. Quan's father is also a good-hearted person with whom I could laugh a lot. I particularly appreciated the direct contact with the local family, which has given me authentic insights into culture and everyday life. An experience I definitely want to repeat.
