“My husband, two teenagers and myself were visiting family in the area and The Dog House met our needs perfectly. Communication with Lesley was quick and easy during the booking process and before our stay. She also greeted us on arrival and provided milk, bread, butter and marmalade - a really thoughtful touch. We were warm & comfortable during our two-night stay and would be happy to stay here again. Thank you Lesley.”
Beautiful Shepherd's Cottage in Grimblethorpe Hall Grounds. A 17th century, cottage, restored with original beams and stonework was used for centuries by the farms shepherd and has spacious bedroom with king size bed and en suite bathroom, cosy lounge and fully fitted dining kitchen. The cottage has a private aspect.
“We booked this place almost a year in advance as we needed to take our dogs to a place where there was no fireworks (our dogs hate them.) We spoke with Andy about our situation and he gave us the full description of the place and what was there and that at New Years Eve we wouldn’t hear a single firework. The place is beautiful and set next to the amazing Grimblethrope Hall and has countryside as far as you can see. It’s has walks for you and your dogs in any direction you need to go as well as farm animals to say hello. The Shepherds cottage we stayed in was all one level and more than enough space for two people and dogs. The Cottage was extremely clean and had all the amenities that you need and a few extra ones added which was a nice surprise. We would definitely recommend and we look forward to going back. Book this for a beautiful quiet countryside retreat and you won’t be disappointed at all.”

The two-bedroom house sits on a quiet, no-through road opposite a cemetery with views towards the countryside, but also just a ten minute walk into the historic town of Louth. If you are looking for a self-catering stay with the countryside on your doorstep but also close to shops, pubs and restaurants - then this could be for you. Louth has great independent shops and there are many places to eat and drink.
“Stayed in Louth at Tim and Vicky's place over New Year. It is so cosy and homely, perfect for our stay with our dog. Well equipped, with everything you would need for a stay. The house is quiet, with plenty of countryside for walks from the doorstep. However, it is not at all far from the centre of town either. We had a lovely meal out at the Greyhound where our puppy was warmly welcomed too. If we need to stay in the area again, we'll definitely be coming back here!”
