Vacation rentals with breakfast in Bandarawela

Our time at Namals guest house was the perfect stay in Ella. The views were incredible and his homemade breakfast on the terrace were something we’ll never forget. Really easy to access Ella town by foot also as it is a 10 min train ride. Cute balcony setting for recharging and a lovely kind family

The room matches the photos and description. Nimalka was a great host, always helpful and kind. Every day he made us a delicious and always different breakfast. The apartment is not in the village but 1km away, for us it was not a problem because you can really easily get there in 10 minutes on foot or in 2 minutes with the tuk tuk, in return from the veranda of the room there is a wonderful view of Ella Rock that pays off for everything. There is silence, you can only hear the sounds of nature and we found it a really relaxing place. Recommended!

I had a great time at Namal's place and would definitely come back here when visiting Ella again. I can recommend it wholeheartedly, Namal is very friendly and welcoming, the room has many amenities and decoration is done with great care. Also, the view is fantastic. The typical Sri Lanka breakfast tastes good and is a well-sized portion for 2$. Ask Namal for recommendations for sightseeing and walk along the railroad tracks for easy access to the city :)

What an amazing place, in a beautiful area of the island. From the moment we drew up to the gates of the Dutch House, we were greeted by the most gorgeous Dutch villa, and the all-pervasive smile of Kannan, who looked after us like members of the family during our stay. The house sits high on the hills outside of Bandarawela, up a short, but very steep road, which gives it a great vantage point over the surrounding lush hills and mountains. It’s a great climate so a gin and tonic on the veranda was a joy. We made use of the pool, and although not heated, you soon get used to it. The surrounding gardens are very well kept and have a plethora of birds and other wildlife. The food prepared by the on site chef was wonderful, as was the attentive service from Kannan. We also had the best sleep we've had during our trip. Even if you’re not in the immediate area, a drive here and a stay in this wonderful house, will surely be one of the highlights of any trip. It was for ours.

We had a budget room with ensuite on the family balcony. Both bedroom and bathroom were perfectly clean. The family is super friendly and always helpful with local recommendations for restaurants and transportation options. Note that there is no kitchen available for this room, contrary to the listing. They offer a convenient Tuk Tuk service for better prices than you could find in Ella town. The walk to Ella town is slightly long, however, there is a shortcut via the train rails.

Wonderful food and amazing views of the hills! A nature lovers dream!

The stay in the Gamini’s home was the silver lining of my trip. The house was very beautifully decorated with a good sense of taste (I took some pictures of their home and glad they like them as well). Our room is very clean and has the local flavor of display. The location is a bit hard to find, but Gamini was so kind that he drove himself to show directions for our driver. The Gamini family was so warm to introduce their pretty little garden (we had a chance to taste their fresh vege salad, amazing!) and it turned out to be an awesome mini garden tour. We also had a very good evening sitting at the garden and chatting about family and their experiences. In the next morning, I was lucky to join their activities in the temple where I sent the prepared food to monks. It was so authentic experience that cannot be found in tourists places. Just as Gamini described, it is a lovely and peaceful place to get away from the noise. A strong recommendation for those who love nature and nice ppl

This was an amazing stay! I wish I stayed longer. The owners Asith and his wife have made a lovely piece of heaven in the mountains. The property and it's surrounding are a dream! The hosts are kind and made us a top notch breakfast. On top of that they are so accommodating and super hard working. There are some considerations when people choose to book, if you're bringing a mini van it's a bit tricky, but the owners make it work! But just keep in mind roads are narrow. They provide their tuk tuk to help as well.

Communication was great before & during our stay. Our time here was excellent. Magnificent views, comfortable living. Comfortable beds. Rooftop breakfasts a great way to start the day. Shan & JP were super helpful with recommendations and advice for Ella. Also arranged transport for us to local sites and offered to arrange our transfer to our next destination if we needed.

Nice place, as described. Good and clean washrooms. Location close to city center and some points of interest. Overall good experience.

The trip was family friendly. We looked at the photos, very beautiful scenery. Expectations were met. The house is at an altitude, very beautiful view, in the morning the fog is enveloping the mountains, just super! The host is available to help you with any questions you need. We were met in the house by the manager, located, called transport for a trip to the city. There is a fireplace in the house, in the evening you can sit by the fireplace for a pleasant pastime. The rooms are clean, there is everything you need, hot water. We were fed breakfast in the morning. The house has a beautiful greenhouse. The dining table is with a view! We liked everything. We recommend if you are in Nuwara Eliya to make a stop in this house.

Loved the place, specifically the hospitality of the host and family, everything was much refreshing and rejuvenating.

Fantastic location, although address is incorrectly listed (look at the map). Otherwise was a very easy check in and hosts were very accommodating

We had a wonderful stay with Ru, Mike, their friendly team, and their beautiful dogs. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home with homemade ginger beer and the best coffee we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Our room was spacious and comfy with stunning valley views. The grounds are incredible—lush gardens, a large pool, and rolling hills. Ru gave us a lovely tour of the estate, introducing us to the animals and sharing her knowledge of the plants and spices used in their delicious meals. Her cooking was outstanding—like having a private chef! We also loved the cooking demo with her mum, followed by a Sri Lankan feast. Breakfasts were unforgettable, with fresh local twists and pastries worthy of Paris. Mike and Ru were generous, insightful hosts and helped us explore the area, including Lipton’s Seat, a tea factory, and Diyaluma Falls. Super warm welcome. 🥰 We arrived a little earlier than planned and so our room was not yet ready for occupancy. However, it took less than 10 minutes and it was ready and we got tea & coffee to welcome you. We have been given some options that we can visit. Every morning there was incredibly delicious breakfast and enjoyed a great view. Great 3 nights we were allowed to spend. Thanks for that! 🥰

The most incredible view in Ella. We had a lovely stay, this is the perfect location to walk up Ella rock with the trail starting right outside the door. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. We were able to walk down into Ella town in 10 minutes but would recommend a short tuk tuk ride back up the hill. Both the Sri Lankan and Western breakfast were great. We would recommend!

This has been our favourite stay of Sri Lanka. Dileepa was so attentive, helpful and friendly, always there to assist. The room and balcony is beautiful with amazing views across the jungle. Don’t be put off by the distance into town - it’s so worth it for this slice of paradise. Thank you Dileepa and family!!! 🥹🤗

Fantastic stay. Lilu was so welcoming and hospitable, and the view is even better in real life than in the pictures. Amazing.

Our stay in Ella was magical. We also owe this great accommodation in a quiet location with incomparable views. We really enjoyed the time and did most of it within walking distance. The place is on a mountain, less in the hustle and bustle, which was perfect for us. If you don't want to take the walk to the city center of about 25 minutes, there is the possibility to take the TukTuk. The communication with Aruna was impeccable. A delicious breakfast is included and there is also dinner at very fair prices. The room was clean and we slept comfortably. Departing from this beautiful place was very difficult for us. If we travel to Sri Lanka again we will definitely come back! Thank you for the hospitality.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Anil's place, super helpful and incredibly hospitable. Unfortunately, there was no real possibility for evening food in the area, we unfortunately had a lot of rain on the days at Anil's, as it was sometimes very difficult to get into town (dry) in the evening. On the day of our departure, Anil probably opened a restaurant on his property.
