House vacation rentals in Barril de Alva

We were a group of 10 people and the house met expectations. It was impeccably clean, with enough space for everyone and a beautiful view that made the stay even more enjoyable. The play areas were undoubtedly a strong point and helped make the weekend a lot of fun. The only thing we missed, being a large group, was a dishwasher, it had worked out. Still, we recommend and would consider going back.

The house is quite comfortable and very quiet. Ideal for which you are looking for days of peace and wants to escape the rush of the big cities. The pool area is spectacular, with very careful equipment and a genius hot tub! Jennifer and Sebastian are perfect hosts. Very friendly and polite, they were always very attentive and immediately responded to all the messages we sent. We love our stay. We will certainly repeat the experience.

Just perfect. An airbnb of rare quality! The accommodation is large, clean and functional. It's just like home. Jose and Delphine leave a lot of things available such as games, beach games, everyday essentials (hand soap, salt, etc.) which avoids buying them for 2 days. Sheets and towels provided which is a huge plus, very rare. Delphine is super welcoming and very available. The pool is perfect, just like the rest. We just want to come back:). Thank you for everything.

This is our second stay at this property. It is situated in a lovely area below the hilltop medieval town of Castelo de Vide. The grounds are spectacular with trees, plants, rock work and charming details. There are several exterior spaces for quiet reflection as well as dining. There are views both large and small. A rooftop terrace is perfect for morning coffee accompanied by chirping birds, the tinkling of bells from the necks of sheep grazing near by, and the sound of the fountain feeding the pool. Or for cocktails at sunset. It is heaven! The house is quite large, with ample space for gathering both indoors and out. Suzanne, the hostess, is very responsive and helpful with suggestions about places to see, local restaurants and events. We will be back.

It was like a retreat! It was just what we needed: rest, calm, privacy. We were able to catch up on our tanning and reading. Having breakfast outdoors is such a simple thing, but in the rush of life it is not so easy and at Ana's house it was mandatory! We loved all the sunsets we watched and hope to return. Marvão is undoubtedly wonderful. We recommend Paulo Gouveia's studio where we bought a beautiful painting where cork is the main character. It will have a special place in our living room where we will remember this vacation filled with peace and harmony. We wish Ana and her space the greatest success and thank her for all the tips and the tasty bottle of wine she left us!

A place that will miss you, a house where all the details have been thought through in detail, with affection and love. This house has all the amenities a guest might want but its success goes far beyond that. João and everyone involved is to be congratulated for what they have built!

We absolutely loved Oliver and Arran’s Airbnb! The terrace and the view are stunning, and the house itself is beautiful. Stargazing from the hot tub was an absolute dream. Oliver and Arran are wonderful hosts — warm, welcoming, and helpful. We highly recommend this Airbnb!

After a week of hotel stays it was so nice to decompress in a home and do laundry! It was just the 2 of us and the space was much more than enough. A bigger party would be very comfortable. Appreciated the welcome email which included instructions on how to use all the appliances. Request- add in a true American coffee maker. The fact that the home is completely updated added to our comfort level. There are great spaces to relax and we enjoyed what the home offered and loved the showers. This location in Central Portugal is in a sleepy hood. There is a corner market but it doesn’t offer much. Arriving late, we were able to get a few essentials for our first morning such as milk & bananas. The 2 towns we decided to day trip to were Coimbra & Aveiro. Both are approximately 1 hour away. While it was a bit farther than I hoped, it was a nice chance to see the countryside & the A17 is so easy to drive. We were quite impressed with the freeways. Would consider a return with more guests!

We had a fantastic stay at Ruth and Gray's place. The accomodation was more than expected. Plenty of space throughout the barn and so well equipped. Provision of essentials (shampoo and shower gel, laundry liquid, tea and coffee etc) was very useful and added an extra touch to our stay. Our young boys loved exploring the land each day and playing with the outdoor games, which was a real bonus. Ruth and Gray provided a really useful list of places to visit within the area - there's so much available within a short drive of the barn. It was then great to get back to the barn to enjoy the grounds and the terrace each evening. Ruth and Gray were very friendly and happy to help. We felt very at home in the barn and would loved to have stayed for longer. We will be sure to visit again. Thank you Ruth and Gray.

We had a fantastic time at Hanna's place. The house is wonderful, a shame that it rained every day, if I had made a little better time we would have taken better advantage of the pool and garden area. Otherwise, everything was great. Hanna's impeccable care. We were all very comfortable.

We stayed for 10 people and the experience was unbeatable. The house far exceeds what the photos show: it is decorated with great taste, perfectly equipped and with storage spaces everywhere. Everything is taken care of in detail, clean, comfortable and with a cozy atmosphere that invites you to enjoy. A perfect stay in every way!

Airbnb-Bewertung für Edgar We had a wonderful stay at Edgar’s place! The house is spacious, comfortable, and very well-equipped – from the kitchen to the outdoor area with a terrace and BBQ spot. It’s perfect for families, with enough space to come together but also to enjoy peace and privacy when needed. The surrounding atmosphere is calm and connected to nature – and the surf experience was a true highlight. The surf lessons were professional, fun, and super well-organized. We also had the chance to try a special horse-based activity nearby, which turned out to be a deeply moving and enriching experience for our family. Edgar was always available, communicative, and very friendly – we felt welcome and well taken care of at all times. The only thing we “blame” him for? We missed the 10-meter wave – under his supervision! 😉 Highly recommended for anyone looking for a real surf holiday in Portugal with comfort, nature, and heart.

The area is beautiful and very quiet, you have a lot of privacy and tranquility. It is a perfect place to disconnect and spend a few quiet days and rest are very nice views. The house is comfortable and the Jacuzzi is great. This place is 🙂 highly recommended!

We loved our stay at the beautiful house, D. Rosa is very nice, always with a smile on her face, her daughter Sara is very attentive and always answered all our messages, our house, I loved the fact that it was old, I felt at my grandmother's house, and my friends share the same feeling, we loved it, too bad it didn't last long, but God willing we'll be back! kisses D. We have been my husband and children very comfortable. It is true that it has rained. But she was fine at the house. I had some electric radiator that is appreciated, because towards a cold pelin and I have small children. The beds and towels are spotless. The kitchen is very clean and with a good refrigerator, freezer , hob and oven and washing machine. Very good food. There is minipimer. It's all wider than the pictures. You can eat at ease in the dining room all. It has to be said that there is only one bathroom and there are staggered showers. But pristine white towels. The location of the house is a bit on the outskirts but it goes perfectly walking to the beach of the village (all flat) which is wonderful. Phenomenal park inside the grounds of the house. It is recommended not to drink tap water, so you count on carrying bottled water

It was spacious, well equipped and better than the photos depicted. Alison and Rod have renovated this property with love and care and provided everything you need and more for a relaxing stay.

I was stayed 1 week there.. it's very clean and calm place.. comfortable beds..sofa...hot water.. garden... kitchen...t v... WiFi.. friendly owner..we are enjoyed there... everything is fine..

We spent 10 wonderful days in this place. good views, close to the sea, a lot of where to walk, great for those who want to rest and stay more at home as was our case, Dick is a dear, attentive, helpful, during the 10 days he gave in the trunks and litters to change, the space is impeccable. Nasondezas has everything you need for shopping, etc... Couldn't have run better. This holiday will be in memory, and it will be saved for later. Thank you Dick

the space is even better than the photos, rooms with bathroom on the first floor and on the second floor a unique space with everything you need to stay with your family, I hope to return soon.

The house is just as it appears in the photos, everything was very clean and the area is close to the beaches of Leiria and Pedrogão, 40 minutes from Nazaré and a little more from Peniche. Matas Nacional is just 10 minutes away so if you like biking or hiking, it's a perfect place. Communication with Nicole and Isabel has been perfect at all times, at so many and always facilitating and resolving any questions or queries. A pleasure to stay in your house for a few days.
