“Very clean, cute cabin in the woods. Comfortable beds, updated bathroom and nice shower. Kitchen was stocked with most everything we needed. Definitely used the fire pit that had plenty of good dry wood. We had fun playing horseshoes and while we never used the kayaks we appreciate that they were offered. Chris was wonderfully attentive, we especially appreciated his response when some strong storms came through and we lost power for a little while. In the local area, we went several times to a nearby county park that had a nice beach. It was a great, short getaway. We would for sure go back!”
Scenically situated overlooking the water, our peaceful 2 bedroom cabin is located directly on the waters of the Johnson Falls Flowage. “My husband and I stayed here for a few days for a "mini-moon" after we had to cancel our honeymoon to Barcelona due to Covid-19. It was the perfect place to unwind after the craziness of wedding planning. We loved the cabin. It was decorated beautifully, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the bed was comfortable. My husband especially loved the recliners in the living room-they were very comfortable! We loved sitting out by the fire- what a nice set up! We spent all of our nights out there, other than the one night it rained. We also enjoyed the paddleboards and kayaks. The river was very peaceful and we felt very secluded. One thing to note- the shower is VERY small, and there isn't much water pressure. It was tight for me, and my husband is 6'3" and a former football player, so he didn't really have any room to move. It wouldn't deter me from staying there again, it's just something to be aware of. Erin was a great host. She was quick to respond to any questions I had before the trip, and when we arrived, she made sure we got settled in okay. We also lost power one night due to a storm, and she let us know right away that she got an alert from the power company and told us when to expect power to be restored. Overall we had a great stay! We definitely recommend booking if you're looking for a few days of relaxation.”
Cabin is located on the Wausaukee River about 3 miles west of Wausaukee, WI. The river is full of brook trout and there is an abundance of wildlife around. Great hiking and biking in the area. There is a great swimming beach at Lost Lake a few miles away. If you bring a boat, the Peshtigo River Flowages are great places to water ski, tube, and fish. There is a Weber charcoal grill that may be used if you want to grill out.
