The village is located between three important points: Spain (5 minutes), Bragança (12 minutes) and Miranda do Douro (25 minutes). In this place, it is possible to recharge, where the only noise is that of Nature. Possibility of being Trasmontano, getting to know its gastronomy and even being able to cook our dishes and products, Bread, Jams, Sausages and the many traditional dishes made in the Pot. Take the Bike and get to Spain in 10 minutes, as well as a Basilica in 5 minutes and a Roman Bridge.

This place is our sacred go-to spot when we want to get out of the city and immerse ourselves in nature. This place has special significance for our family because it was here that as a child, we would spend whole days watching over the cows, reading and dreaming as the sun moved across the sky towards dusk. We have recently completed renovations, adding solar & central heating and we would love to share it with people who are looking for a unique experience in an unexplored region of Portugal.

La Fontica Restored 18th Century Cottage

La Fontica is a 200-year-old family house typical of the architecture of Lower Sanabria, recently renovated respecting its ancient characteristics with a touch of sophistication and modernity. The house offers spacious and unique rooms with private bathrooms, kitchen and large dining room, living room and common garden. It is located in the cozy village of Villanueva de Valrojo, in the skirt of the Sierra de la Culebra, a village well known for its famous Carnivals and proximity to nature.
