“Gian was very welcoming and his place was perfect. Unexpectedly, I needed an overnight stay and, at late notice, he was very happy to accomodate me. I arrived and the place was very warm and cozy and my room quiet. The bed was very comfortable and he made me very welcome to use the kitchen. Gian also recommended a local pizza place which was great. I’m very happy to recommend a stay at Gian’s place.”
Immersed in the woods of Casentino, surrounded by firs, oaks and hazels and protected by a secular oak that surrounds it, our most beloved house is the ideal place for those who want to spend a few days in a warm and welcoming atmosphere and to take refuge in nature in an area rich in art and mysticism.
“La Gattaia was one of our all-time favorite AirBnb stays - and we've stayed in many across the world. It is a gem in so many ways. But sometimes the AirBnb review process doesn't adequately capture the remarkable human connection you can make when traveling. Our hosts, dear Serena and Paolo, went above and beyond the normal duties of hosting us...for we had the good fortune to be staying at La Gattaia just as the coronavirus pandemic was starting to send shock waves across Italy. When it became clear that we needed to leave the country as soon as possible, Serena and Paolo did everything in their power to help us get back home safely. Their kindness and generosity throughout those days of scrambling to figure out how to get home is a testament to the beautiful people of Italy, and to all that is good in the human race. Thank you Serena and Paolo! We hope you are well and safe!”
