The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

The farm is located in the village of Tzummarum, 2 km from the Wadden Sea. Here you will find peace and greenery. Many opportunities to explore Friesland. Very spacious farmhouse with lots of living space. A large garden for outdoor play: badminton, trampoline, swings. Many sunny seating areas from the garden and rooms overlooking the meadows. Heb je behoefte aan privacy, rust, ruimte, off grid, natuur in alle comfort, dan is onze Float exact wat je nodig hebt. Je hebt het eiland voor jezelf. Midden in de natuur. Je kunt vissen, zwemmen, suppen, zeilen, of gewoon even helemaal niks. Wakker worden in ons, duurzaam gebouwd varend tiny huis is voor iedereen een weldaad, waarna je de hectiek van alle dag weer aan kunt.

Tussen de groene vlaktes van het Friesche Menaldum vindt u de uniek gebouwde Tiny Farm House met veranda inclusief hot tub. Deze grenst aan een traditionele kop hals romp boerderij uit 1880. Sinds 1980 runt boer Folkert de melkveehouderij waar 110 koeien gemelkt worden. Kom tot rust in de hot tub of neem een duik in de zwemvijver nabij. Ga met de veerboot een dag naar Terschelling of Vlieland. Breng een bezoek aan de hoofdstad Leeuwarden of stap op de fiets en verken de omgeving.

Lyts Kastieltsje, a quiet cottage in an orchard

Lyts Kastieltsje is a short walk from the Waddenzee, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest tidal area on Earth. The cottage was once part of the cooling barn for the old fruit farm. It is surrounded by just over a hectare of gardens, orchards and meadow which provide a home for our three sheep, bees and many species of birds. The orchards contain plum, quince, medlar and different varieties of apple and pear trees. We also share the place our dog Jack, 10 ducks and some chickens.
