“Alex has obviously put a lot of work in making the summer house a comfy, cosy, welcoming place. It was a great stay in all the sense. He’s a great, attentive host. This is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend or a base to explore the area! We’ll certainly be back!”
The property is a self contained annexe on the side of a stone farm house situated above the town of Hay-on-Wye, looking towards the Black Mountains, with fields that run down to the Offas Dyke pathway. It is an ideal base for walking, enjoying the River Wye or visiting Hay itself. We are very animal friendly and dogs are welcome , but will need to be kept on a lead when in the proximity of the free running poultry and sheep.
“Sarah’s place is conveniently located about four miles away from the best bookshops one could want in Hay on Wye; the surrounding countryside is idyllic with great views from the upstairs window and birds at the kitchen window. Lovely horses and geese in the neighbouring field will welcome your stay. The place is spacious, clean and comfortable. Enjoy your visit. You could include a stop at Hereford cathedral, especially in winter as it really worth visiting with its chained library, relics and intriguing interior.”
Welcome back! We’re following Covid-19 cleaning guidelines but please contact us first if you need more detail. Kington is a small market town off the beaten track on the Herefordshire/Welsh Border. Our cottage is in a quiet, secluded spot in the town whose amenities include food stores, cafes, takeaways and pubs. Walkers’ heaven! Offa’s Dyke Path passes within about 300m of our door. If you stay 2 nights when walking the Path, we can collect/deposit you from/to the trail free of charge.
“We had a great stay at Liz’s place. Liz met us in the car park around the corner and drove us back to the house. The room is spacious with a huge en suite bathroom, all sparkling clean with lots of nice touches. Liz took the time to speak to us about our day and she knows all about the town and walks in the area. We highly recommend. There are lots of pubs within walking distance and we both had splendid homemade lasagne in the Oxford Arms down the road. They also had a free pool table and darts board, what’s more the locals were friendly and spoke to us and the landlord and staff couldn’t have been better.”
