Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Buckingham County

We loved our long weekend at Sentosa cabin!! The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. Everything was clean, well maintained, and well stocked. The deck and its views were amazing! If the weather had been just a little warmer, I probably wouldn’t have left the deck. It was the perfect place to rest and recharge. We were sad to go, but we will definitely be back!! Highly recommend Sarah and her cabin 😊

This is a beautiful suite in beautiful Nelson County a few miles from where I grew up. My stay at the La-De-Da was restful and rejuvenative; the place was small but carefully laid out, everything felt clean and cared for, and I had no issues with Cindy and Peter. I meant to keep to myself, and I did, but when issues arose Cindy was quick to respond. I happened to have some rough weather when I traveled, and while I have no issues with the place itself, it's worth pointing out that this location is indeed remote. Returning one night I had to navigate around roads blocked by fallen trees and flooded streams in areas with no cell reception whatsoever. The directions say to make sure you have gas in your tank. That's no joke.

Beautiful place with beautiful hosts. They were very informative and knew a lot about the area. They were available when needed but kept the space very private. Had a great stay.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The house is so cute and has so much character. We love coming to Nelson County. This was our first time staying in Shipman and it's perfectly located to bop around the surrounding towns and Blue Ridge Parkway. Definitely go to Dr. Ho's Humble Pie and pop into the Crossroads market for their eclairs!

We were looking for something remote with no traffic or noise. Mitchell’s place was just THAT! He was very accommodating and flexible. Husband gives Mitchell 10 stars for having the GOOD TP and a sparkling bathroom. 🤣 The hot tub was very clean and perfect temperature. Everything about this place was perfect. Tip: pick up some steaks within 30 minutes of getting there and use the grill. (You will not want to travel back out—there is nothing close by). Will definitely be back.

This Airbnb was everything I hoped for as a weekend getaway. The space was absolutely perfect…clean, modern and cozy. My daughter and I had so much fun visiting with the beautiful and sweet rescue animals and exploring the path to the river. Also, Katie was beyond accommodating and kind. We hated to leave.

All I can say is 10 out of 10, recommend. Nicest host, great get AWAY, and beautiful scenery. Would stay here if I could! Can’t wait to come back this summer!

Love this little cabin and the surrounding nature! It’s always a peaceful trip, and the cabin has everything you need.

Great place, clean house, fun to be on a working farm for the weekend. Only note is there is no central air conditioning so bringing fans for upstairs bedrooms is helpful.
