Vacation rentals with a kayak in Buncombe County

Cozy home with everything we needed for a relaxing 2 week stay for medical treatments. Jade worked with us prepping the home beforehand removing fragrances. We brought a cooler of food and the kitchen was quipped with everything we needed! The photos were accurate - it was soo cozy and relaxing; hubby and I especially enjoyed listening to several vintage record albums-what a nice nostalgic treat! While there wasn’t a closet available, we used the over-the-door hangar to hang what we needed and put the rest in drawers which were plentiful. Having a washer/dryer available kept us going for the 2 weeks without having to pack a lot of clothes. The little office nook was perfect for remote work. The home was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to main roads to go anywhere we needed, from our appointments to shopping to dining, although our favorite ice cream/lunch spot Baabal’s, was just a short drive away – quite a charming find! We definitely enjoyed our experience!!

We are avid vacationers & own vacation rental properties & this is THE BEST place we have ever stayed !!! The layout of this lake house is incredibly thoughtful for an extended family like ours (6 adults & 2 children) ;; the Kitchen is the centerpiece of this property & when not down at the lake in the Adirondacks, we spent most of our time at the table & island - we cooked half of the time & found the cookware to be accommodating for us. The views are magazine worthy - especially from the comfortable living room with its sweet fireplace. The views continue through to every bedroom in the house as well - and every single bed was incredibly comfortable & linens were spot on - the owners provided plenty of water toys for all of us as well life jackets for our littles !! You won’t be disappointed by choosing this property as your next lake retreat !!

The pictures did not do this place justice, as it was more beutiful than the pictures represented. It was clean, vary large with many amenities and lots of water toys "several kayaks , a canoe, beach toys, life vest, and even a couple blow up tubes. There was a nice grill and firepit and Amanda even left the kiddoes smores fixing, which they enjoyed very much. We were there for Easrer weekend, and there did not seem to be anyone in any of the other cabins along the lake, so it was very private, which we appreciated. Give this place a try, and you won't be disappointed.

The cabin was beautiful and our family loved the 3 king size beds and hot tub. It was very clean and well stocked. David was extremely responsive and very helpful. We would totally come rent any AirBnB location from Karen. We enjoyed 3 excellent restaurants in the area: Appalachian was just a few miles away and was impressive to say the least! Highlands Reserve and La Strada were also very good. Overall we had a great relaxing time!

Beautiful place, relaxing and quite. It is a great place to stay and plenty of stuff for kids to enjoy. We had a great time with our family.

The property was super clean, cozy and in a great location. Beautiful views of the lake and a private backyard. Interior had all the essentials one might need. Linens were abundant and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were all upgraded and very nice. Quick drive to the market and a walk across the street for coffee, drinks and food. Also a quick drive to Chinmey Rock. Patrick, the host, was very responsive and always friendly. Definitely recommend. We will be staying here again!

Great location on Lake Lure. Quick access to the central part of the lake. Inside the house is on the small side but outdoor decks provide plenty of space to spread out. Everything you might need to enjoy your lake stay is provided, including the option for an on-site boat to rent. Parking is tight for larger vehicles - would suggest more compact size cars for easier maneuvering on street/parking area.

We stayed at Mike and Cate's for my husband's birthday weekend. It was a perfect, cozy spot (loved the bed!) for us to unwind after our adventures to the Biltmore House and a day of antiquing. I highly recommend this for a couple looking for a quiet neighborhood and relaxing stay. We had a great seafood meal at Surf & Brew Oyster Bar, minutes from the house!

Lovely, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing with so much room! My little family of 4 could not have been happier here I was so blessed to have came across this place! From canoeing and kayaking to the beach and back, roasting marshmallows by the fire pit, having fun trying to fish while watching all the turtles, to the hot tub and game room we just couldn’t stop running out of things to do and the memories that will last a lifetime! We never even had to leave this beautiful place with bringing groceries on the way there and we sure did not want to leave when it was check out time! From my husband and I to our two beautiful kids we all would highly recommend this place! Brody was such a wonderful host from start to finish always fast to respond with any questions that I may of had! Again would highly recommend this place!!

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

This was a great place for multiple families or a family reunion. Lots of extras, toilet paper, dish washing liquid, garbage bags, laundry pods, linens, etc. The kids really enjoyed the lake and jumping off the boathouse dive platform. The kayaks were a hit as well. Living room view was breathtaking, especially while drinking our coffee. The pontoon rental was also a great addition to our stay! The power did go out in the neighborhood one evening for several hours but Brody was very helpful and kept us updated on when it would be restored. The place comes with everything you really need. It’s a 10 min drive to town at Chimney Rock where the kids enjoyed put put golf and we did a little shopping at the boutiques. The Lake Lure beach is also about 10 min away and across the street is a great little ice cream stand and the Lake Lure resort where we got to check out since it’s where Dirty Dancing was partially filmed! All in all a great stay and lots of great memories made!

We had a wonderful visit with spectacular views, with lots of peace and quiet. Everything we needed was supplied with excellent communication with host. Would definitely recommend this property and you will not be disappointed.

We had an amazing stay! The private beach is so nice and the kids enjoyed it so much. The house had a well stocked kitchen and everything was in order. The host is extremely responsive and was quick to help.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house! The breathtaking mountain view was unbelievable, and the house itself was so cozy and comfortable, with comfy furniture and beds. The kitchen had everything we needed, even for our large group. Having access to Rumbling Bald was a fantastic bonus – we really enjoyed the indoor pool and mini-golf. Communication with the host was excellent, and check-in was smooth. We highly recommend this house for a peaceful family retreat. The only downside? Our kid was so sad when it was time to leave!!! Thank you, Kathleen, we will definitely come back.

Beautiful piece of heaven. Even though it rained the majority of our visit we were still able to enjoy the serenity of the area thanks to the covered porches. This home is so peaceful and quaint. Exactly what I wished for, and we look forward to staying here again. Highly recommend folks stay at this beautiful cabin with the lovely view.

What a beautiful house! Our family so enjoyed our stay at the Kellystone Lodge! It was extremely cozy and comfortable!! The front porch and the screened-in back deck were among our favorite spots to hang out! The theater room was also a favorite at the end of the day! The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need. The beds are very comfortable! All the personal touches added to our stay! Leslie was very quick to respond with any questions or concerns. The guest passes to the Rumbling Bald Resort was a great bonus! The resort is a short 5 minute drive from the house. Ingle’s grocery store is close by as well. The house was a perfect location to so many things we did! I could go on and on! You can’t go wrong in staying at the Kellystone Lodge! We would definitely stay there again if we were to come back to beautiful Lake Lure!!
