We have set checkout for 2 PM so that you can enjoy a relaxing stay. Located on a stone embankment where two rivers converge, this renovated traditional Japanese house is surrounded by trees and is a private room-only accommodation. There are no buildings in sight, and you can enjoy the sound of the river, the sound of birds, and a sense of unity with nature. The water is spring water (water quality has been inspected). Depending on the season, people come to the river next to the inn to play in the river or to go to the Kappa Falls. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy playing in the river, as well as a BBQ or a campfire (depending on the season and weather, we may ask you to refrain from these activities) using the food you bring. (Please be careful when handling fire.) Please rest assured that cooking utensils, a microwave, and tableware are also provided. If you walk upstream along the riverside path, you will find the Kappa Falls about 150 metres ahead. Please ensure you have food and drinks, such as dinner, prepared before check-in.(It takes about 20 minutes by car to the supermarket) The last 400 metres to the accommodation are narrow and difficult to navigate, Once you arrive at "Camu Tsubaki Mountain", we will be happy to show you around.

MACOMO is named after "Makomo (true bamboo)". It is a plant of the Poaceae family that grows in colonies along the water's edge and is also called "Makomodake". Because it has a purifying effect on soil and water, it has been called "the grass where the gods dwell" and "the grass of fate" since ancient times, and is considered a sacred plant. It is used as a mat (mushiro) and a tool for purification in Shinto rituals such as at Izumo Taisha Shrine. We hope you have a pleasant trip to this inn. When you pass through the tunnel of autumn leaves (maple), the inn surrounded by trees appears, and the surroundings are very quiet. It is an area where birds (woodpeckers, cuckoos, thrushes, etc.) and animals (flying foxes, foxes, deer, hares, etc.) coexist and thrive. Please forget your daily worries and relax so that the birds are not startled. The tap water at Macomo comes from the beautiful water source of Shioi Shrine. The entire property is available for only one group of guests per day. It can accommodate eight guests, who can enjoy the space freely and privately. It takes about five minutes by car to the station, Jinlin Lake, and Yongwang Supermarket, and about three minutes by car to the nearest Lawson convenience store. The environment is elegant and quiet, surrounded by greenery. Free parking and free pick-up and drop-off service are provided (advance booking required; specific details can be discussed). The house itself is a Western-style house with Chinese elements. You will have a 100-square-metre private wooden space. There is a spacious yard outside the house where you can book a barbecue. Create memories that belong to "us" in Hayao Miyazaki's Totoro Town. 1️⃣ The BBQ start time cannot be later than 7:00 PM. After 7:00 PM, the BBQ will be considered automatically cancelled (free equipment is provided, but charcoal is not included, and advance booking is required). 2️⃣ Please do not make loud noises in the yard after 9:00 PM, as it will disturb the neighbours' rest. 3️⃣ No smoking indoors 🚭 There is a smoking area outdoors 4️⃣ Pets are not allowed.

You can barbecue, and your children and dogs can run around and free their minds. You can bring your dog inside and let it sleep with you. Children and dogs will have more fun moving their bodies and freeing their minds than talking, so please let them run around indoors and outdoors. It is on a road with a view of the sea, about a 3-minute walk from the inn. We recommend going to see the morning sun while listening to the sound of the waves and the chirping of the birds. Toyosato City, where the inn is located, is a forest therapy base. Forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and listen to your heart with both the inn and forest therapy. I want you to have that kind of time.

We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees. If you don't like insects, it may be difficult to enjoy. The facility is located in a very quiet residential area. Please refrain from having loud conversations in the garden or on the deck after 8 pm.
