Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Caniço

Stayed a week and we wished it was longer! The house really fits the description, surrounded by banana trees we could also see and hear the waterfalls from the cliffs and the ocean from below. It was so idyllic! We were so worried about it being cold but the house is well insulated, it was almost too warm in the night. We also had no issue at all with mosquitoes and spent some nice breakfasts and dinners on the terrace. The hosts were also as great as the accommodation! We were directly met with some fresh bananas. The rest of the week they were incredibly helpful whenever we encountered any issues, even if it wasn’t a question related to the house. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, even offered some extra blankets and a heater that we didn’t need in the end! The street leading to the accommodation is indeed steep, we’d recommend a smaller rental car but with a good amount of horse power still. Nonetheless the way up to this gem is absolutely worth it!

We had a wonderful holiday at Casa da Janela! The house is beautiful, very welcoming and perfect for family moments. It was impeccably clean, well-equipped and full of small details that made us feel truly at home. The countryside is simply relaxing — with a breathtaking view of the mountain and the sea. The smooth noise of the waves and absolute quiet were the perfect setting to recharge energy. The location is excellent: isolated enough to ensure total peace of mind, but close to everything we needed. A big thank you to hosts, who have always been attentive and available.

We had a wonderful 2 days stay at the house. outside has lots of nice seating areas, perfect place to eat breakfast and dinner. The kitchen has every supply that we needed to cook. Overall a great house to stay.

The house is an old farmhouse and very spacious. Instead of windows, some rooms have doors to the outside. Very nice is the conservatory, where you can sit even in less good weather and enjoy the magnificent view. The kitchen is well equipped. We sometimes disturbed the traffic past the house. We were warmly welcomed with fruit and Madeira wine. Many thanks to Emanuel for the friendly accompaniment and the good recommendations. I can only recommend the house!

One of our best AirBnBs ever. Exactly as advertise, Sofia's place is large, comfortable and beautifully situated. Jardim do Mar is our favourite spot on our favorite island. Would return to Sofia's place again and again - unfortunately next year renovation is planned but the current house is wonderful. Sofia is extremely helpful and responsive - I don't remember ever waiting more than 15 mins for a response. Our 5 weeks stay flew by. Highest level of recommendation.

Beautiful house! Amazing host, Paula makes sure everything is great. She even dropped by in the evening to bring new sheets when our baby threw up on our bed. Too sweet. Also the communication with her was the best ever. Big pool, great garden to have morning coffee in the sun, lovely village on walking distance. Good to know that the water pressure of the showers are a bit low, we were able to get a good shower anyway. Paula is super flexible, we were allowed to stay in the house until our flight left that day because there was not a guest coming that day or the next. All in all we would recommend Paula’s place 1000%.

A property set in a stunning location, the views of Funchal were amazing. The property has a private pool within spacious grounds. The house is well equipped with everything a family needs, particularly the kitchen. Carlota and Babi were easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any correspondence.

The place is really very clean, really nothing to complain about! it was perfect! there is space with a beautiful kitchen and a view of the beautiful sunset!! The property easily lives up to the description and the pictures. The houses are fully equipped, very nicely decorated and comfortable. The swimming pools offer stunning unobstructed views of the ocean during the day and of the sky at night. There are no road noises, the place is truly calm. Grocery stores are a few minutes away by car, as are restaurants. Numerous hikes can be found in the region. The host is very reactive and will provide many recommandations related to restaurants and activities. Renting both houses to two families is a great way to spend time together while also having some privacy. I would go back there without any hesitation.

We spent a week in this beautiful apartment. The location in Camara de Lobos and the amenities were great. We felt right at home We especially enjoyed the view from all three living rooms and the balcony, which is actually a terrace. This view is even nicer than the photos! The garage parking is great, we really enjoyed not having to look for a parking spot after hiking. Camara de Lobos is a lively place with many restaurants, bakers and supermarket. The contact with Catherine was great. We were able to get into the apartment earlier, the self-check-in worked smoothly. Even though she was not on site, she made us feel like we were always available.

Waking up with the sea and blackbirds singing, exloring the region of Funchal and closing the day with a swim. Great place!

I’ve stayed at many Airbnbs and Pedro is the #1 host, hands down. He was friendly, accommodating, easy to communicate with and held high integrity. There was some construction with one of the units (which was beyond Pedro’s control) and he was genuinely concerned if it affected us (it did not take away from our wonderful experience!) The bright decor, comfortable space and the sounds of the ocean make this place the go to stay in Madeira. Would happily go back our next visit to Madeira!

Very nice rental, nothing to complain about, everything is very good and clean. We would recommend it. We were only able to communicate with the owner via the internet and key boxes. The proximity to the airport is well understood from 8am to 11pm.

Cais Dos Anjos is everything you have dreamed of. It is private and secluded. You feel like you have the whole ocean and surrounding beach to yourself. We could not wait to get back to this little slice of heaven after our daily adventures. You will never regret doing the 286 steps!

The accommodation was ideal for a vacation in Funchal, with many restaurants and cafes fairly close by. We had not appreciated how steep the hill is when walking up from the old town, but managed the walk virtually every day during our 3 week stay. Prospective visitors would be well advised to make use of taxis (costing around €6 from the town centre to the property) or check out the Number 22 bus which runs from town to a stop outside the property. Had we looked at the bus details earlier, we might have saved ourselves some hill climbing. We watched the New Year fireworks from the road outside and would really recommend this fantastic experience to others. Carina is a very considerate and supportive host and was always quick to help, whenever asked.

Casa Jean with Andrea and Jens is an enchanting wooden cottage, very well furnished and with fantastic views of the sea and in front of a banana plantation. Thanks to the remote location, we were able to escape the somewhat hectic surroundings, e.g. from Funchal, very well and enjoy the peace and quiet in front of and in the cottage. At the same time, you can reach the various orders of the island in a short time by car, with very different hikes and experiences. The hosts Andrea and Jens gave us good tips and welcomed us very nicely with little touches. We highly recommend this gem and will be very happy to come back! All the best, Beate and Richard

We felt very comfortable in Richards House. It's great to have breakfast in the garden. There are some nice hikes nearby and it was cosy at the fireplace in the evening. We would defenatly come again!

If you're looking for a quiet area to get away from the crowds in the cities this is a wonderful place. It's nestled in the mountain valleys near Ponta do Prago but quite near the ocean. We loved our 6 day stay at Frederica 's. She provided good, clear instructions to get there. She also gave us very useful information on local attractions, restaurants and supermarkets. The house is on a very steep pitched road so walking up and down it can be a challenge ( we are in our 70's ) We did it a few times. There is a walk from her house to the waterfalls . It took us about 2 hrs. Rnd-trip but it was well worth it. If we were to return we'd go back in April or later.

Beautiful tastefully decorated accommodation, with all the comforts. Spacious terrace. Beautiful sea views and another small roof terrace to enjoy the sunset. A bottle of wine with some goodies and a stuffed fruit bowl made us feel welcome. We definitely recommend this place!
