Cottage vacation rentals in Cape Charles

Our stay in this home was such a treat! We enjoyed utilizing the kayaks to boat around in Chesapeake Bay. The hot tub was an absolute delight, perfect for evening stargazing, saw lots of shooting stars, and could see the water of the bay from the hot tub. We also enjoyed doing November cold plunges from the hot tub to the pool. While the living room is not expansive, it fit our needs for family game & movie nights. The bed linens were so comfortable, and Lori was beautifully responsive & friendly when we would reach out with a question. We also enjoyed the nearby Sandy beaches.

Richard was absolutely amazing and was so quick to respond when our trip changed and we were getting there a little bit earlier! We will definitely be coming back next year! The house stayed cold the beds were very comfortable and watching the sunset at the dock was by far my favorite thing!

Our trip to The Half Shell Haven was great! The place was clean, extremely well stocked, and included many extras! We had crazy weather the first two days, but we had plenty to do at the house. My boys loved being on the water and the game room and my daughter loved the hot tub and bicycling. My daughters service dog enjoyed a nice reprieve and seemed so happy. We had a great time, and were honestly sad to go! If we find ourselves back up in Virginia we will definitely stay here! Thank you for the care and attention to detail to ensure a great trip!

To say this house was a dream come true would be an understatement. From the moment we drove up the long driveway and laid eyes on the picturesque setting of the red house nestled in the woods, we fell in love. My 17-year old daughter walked in and said the pictures online did it no justice and she is exactly right. The house was immaculate, with every feature you could possibly imagine. The technology throughout was unbelievable. Google Home in EVERY room. TVs with surround sound. A game room that kept us busy for hours. A karaoke machine. It was a much needed getaway. Our dogs were in heaven with the acres of land to explore on walks. I have never felt so relaxed. I just can’t say enough. I love the city of Cape Charles but honestly did not want to leave this house. The host, Dave, was so great with communicating, even before we arrived. We will definitely plan another visit here! I would say the only downside was getting carpel tunnel trying to beat high scores in the arcade room. ?

Beautiful property! No words to describe the natural beauty surrounding the house. Huge house with lots of space and you get this amazing view overlooking the water throughout. The boardwalk leading out to the beach and the beach itself is absolutely awesome! Hands down gorgeous stay.

This place was perfect for what we were looking for! We will certainly be booking again when we come back.

Lovely clean, everything needed provided cottage in a peaceful neighborhood with a short walk to the Bay. Kids loved the little beach and the sandbar when the tide went down. No bugs in April;)

Such a great location - just a short walk from the beach. Front porch is a great place in the mornings and evenings. The dining room and living room fit our group well and we squeezed in the bedrooms (4 couples + 6 kids all 3 and under) but it was perfect since we spent most time outside anyways! Adam was super helpful and quick to respond when we needed a few items. Would definitely visit again!

I cannot find the words to express our families stay. When I say this was the best stay at an ABNB we have had thus far it was. The outside itself from the landscaping to the scenery was breathtaking. Checking in was a breeze. Once inside pictures cannot begin to show the beauty of this property. The hosts have really thought through a guest experience. They went over and beyond hosts duties adding extreme attention to details. Anything and everything you may need or want for your stay was there. Even with all the extra amenities and the beauty of the home our family instantly felt at home. We loved our stay so much we have already booked our next stay.

The home sits on a nice point of land at the end of a quiet road. It is a nice mix of early 20th century charm and modern with spacious living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. The living room and large deck allow unobstructed views of the water. The home is well-kept, clean, and includes everything you need for a pleasant getaway. And, it is a short (10 min.) drive to the shops and restaurants in Kilmarnock. A relaxing, recommended stay.

we had an excellent time at the little grey house. its cute and comfy and the view is to die for. please do yourselves a favor and watch the sunrise at least once its beautiful. theres not much on the island itself for food but there are plenty of places to find good food near by. I highly recommend the pizza at southwind pizza. was really good. I promise you will enjoy your stay at. Will hopefully beable to book again next time were down in the area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous recently renovated home. It had everything we needed—and I don’t mean just the furnishings, but also the peace, relaxation and rest we sorely needed on our week-long getaway. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed back yard and provided dog toys and food bowls. The back deck was a great place to eat breakfast and sip cappuccino from the deluxe coffee maker. Beds were comfortable, and it was a delight to cook in the fully-stocked kitchen. Walks in the neighborhood and down to the beach, reading on the front porch, excursions to the nearby state park and wildlife refuge, watching the sunset over a delicious dinner at the Shanty restaurant - these are some of the memories we’re taking home with us. Our stay at this property was truly an amazing getaway. The breathtaking views and stunning sunrises from the porch were a daily delight. The home is exactly as described and absolutely beautiful. We felt like we were at home. Each room is uniquely decorated. The doors opening up from the upstairs living room to the porch outside with a comfortable couch was so wonderful. We enjoyed the quietness Beach Music offered. We look forward to coming back soon one day.

We had a wonderful week at Gwynn’s Island. Access to the private pier was perfect for morning coffee and fishing all day long. Gorgeous sunrise views on the deck and easy access to the beach. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay with family was a blast! We had beautiful weather for our stay and the front porch was our favorite for hanging out! And the fireplace was nice and cozy on the cooler mornings. The location is so convenient for walking downtown to restaurants and shops. Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise!

Lovely home in a serene neighborhood. The pool was such a blessing as it was very hot and muggy the week of our stay. We also appreciated the central air conditioning! The house had everything we needed and made our stay very easy and comfortable. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming as well!

Joan’s place (and Joan) were absolutely lovely. Upon arrival, we were struck by the adorable cottage. It’s in a quiet, peaceful, and serene neighborhood. The screened-in porch was a little haven for us and our dogs in the morning and better yet at sunset where we had spectacular views. Joan was responsive, helpful, and very sweet. Highly recommend this stay over and over. We plan on returning ☺️

We loved our stay! We stayed for three nights at the end of our spring break with my teenagers as well as my cousin and her children. They loved the ping-pong table, the kayaking, the little beach, the dock and just being able to hang out with each other. The house has multiple spaces, both inside and out. We watched the sunrise from the dock, grabbed dinner in Deltaville, played mini golf and saw a movie nearby and went out on a fishing charter. Lovely trip overall and host was very responsive.
