Monthly Rentals in Chimo

My husband, two daughters (9 & 11), and I had the most relaxing 6 days at Dos Hermanos. The views from the house are incredible! We saw humpback whales breaching from the varanda while playing Uno. Marc and Michelle are so friendly and helpful. Marc’s sister, Sarah, was on an extended stay as well and was incredible. She even took my older daughter to the local middle school to teach English to the kids which was one of my daughter’s highlight of her trip. Maria cooked us dinner twice and I highly recommend it, some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. The locals are friendly and welcoming and so happy to have visitors there. We had the beach to ourselves and swam and relaxed under the trees. We felt so safe that our girls went on daily walks to play with the street dogs and get ice cream while we stayed and read books on the varanda. Basically, this is a perfect trip if you want to relax. My only tip is to bring your own coffee bc the 2 stores only had instant coffee.

This is our second time visiting Los Chonchos. Casa Hueso is the newest palapa and is beautifully decorated and clean. Jennifer was great at communicating and helping us find a driver from the airport to the pier whom we could trust with our luggage when we ran into the grocery store in PVR. My kids, 6 and 10, loved the swings around the kitchen island and all the seashells we found. Out of 24 palapas, around 3 or 4 are occupied full time, and others are vacation homes, of which a few rent; so it is quite secluded, with often private beaches. It is a special place and a paradise.

Absolutely magical 🍄 trip I couldn't put into words accurately how lovely this place is. An older palapa (new roof) with a million dollar view. Every morning we watched the whales and a few good breaches too! Kitchen is well equipped, warm shower with good pressure. Water wasn't good for snorkeling but a local told us it usually isn't this time of year and low/rainy season is best. Stayed nice and cool even though Temps were mid-80s. Walk to chimo is lovely but I don't recommend for disabled or elderly there is some steep sections. Bring everything you need, chimo has minimal things but can get few items there (we got some veggies and tortillas and chips), bring butter and seasoning for your stay. I advise a bluetooth speaker, book and binoculars for sure. Extremely relaxing and I would stay again in a heartbeat. This place was exactly what my soul needed 💕 If a little black dog with a white paw visits please feed him (away from the house) - his name is glove 🐕

Excellent choice if you are happy with off-the-grid, no roads, no stores, no services. We had been to Los Chonchos many times before so we knew exactly what to expect and what we wanted. This eco preserve offers a very rare and very special opportunity. Propane, solar, Starlink, and gravity-fed spring water provide all of the comforts of home.
