This airy dream home on the outskirts of the quaint town of Mansfield. The living room has a dramatic two story wall of windows! We normally ask for two nights- however, if you need one night mid-you can possibly snag this lovely place for one night! Light & Lovely Chateau is close to all of the favorite destinations in the northern tier of Pennsylvania including Mansfield University. We try to ensure guests have a wonderful experience!
“Charming house in a quiet part of town. We hiked a bit at Lambs Creek recreation area because we were a little early for check-in. Such a beautiful spot!! Dinner at York-Holo Brewing company was perfect, and then we retired to our VERY spacious apartment! It was just two of us, so we didn’t need the downstairs bedroom (there is a hallway with lock-out to second apartment but most of the house is yours!). The upstairs (where you enter from driveway) is a huge kitchen and living room, bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was sparkling clean and the bed had a foam mattress topper that was super comfortable. The best part was having coffee in the morning with the view out of the wall of windows. Completely private and gorgeous!! It was so nice that morning, it almost made us late for check out, lol!! Enjoy!”
The 2-bedroom apartment has a queen bed in each room plus a sofa bed. Walking distance to Tioga River and antique dealers. Nearby - Mansfield University, Wellsboro, PA (home of the Laurel Festival and the Dickens Festival), the PA Grand Canyon, and great hiking, camping, and hunting areas. Please note - second floor - exterior stairs to reach apartment above our detached garage. Our house is next to the garage, but the apartment is totally separate from the house.
“Jon and Carolyn are great hosts and communicators. Text where answered quickly and check in was a breeze. We founded this unexpected gem while looking for a place to stay in Tioga county. It was a well-thought out comfortable space and very family friendly. Toys for the kids, DVDs, basic kitchen supplies and comfy beds. Location wise it was a nice jumping off point to explore surrounding areas including the Pennsylvania Grand canyon. Thank you for a comfortable stay.”
Perfect for a weekend get- away, this cabin opens its door to welcome you and your family. Start your day with a spectacular sunrise and end it with the quiet of the evening as you roast marshmallows around an open fire. Couple these great accommodations with other activities offered here on the farm, and you might just get a vacation which you will want to write home about!
“I don't even know where to begin with this review. Just WOW. Ashley, Pam, and Dale treated us like family! We were greeted with homemade apple bread, a personalized note, and an optional tour of the farm (which we obviously took!) Pam was so engaging and wonderful, introducing us to goats, baby pigs, mini horses, and an extra large chicken named Franny. She was so delightful to listen to, and we are so happy she showed us around, telling us stories while asking us about our lives and our interests. After the fun tour, we retreated to our own private cabin far away, while still feeling like a part of the rural farm experience. We had mentioned we didn't have firewood, and not only did Dale bring us firewood for free, he lit the fire for us while we were down fishing and kayaking on the pond! AND he brought us half a case of water bottles! This family is the main attraction, I promise you. The cabin was incredible, the lofts were beautiful, the space was nice and open, and comfortably fit all 6 of us. There was a fire pit and a few different hammocks just outside. Horses and kayaks were a short hike down a hill, and totally worth the small trek! What is not expressed in this listing is all the amenities included with your cabin experience. Horseback riding, kayaking, a pool, a farm tour, and the best amenity of them all Pam, Dale, and Ashley! We came from just outside of NYC, and I think the pure hospitality was exactly what we needed! Looking forward to go back again hopefully soon! Thanks again for the incredible experience!”
