This quirky cottage is very well equipped, full of character and set in a beautiful and tranquil location. The local town of Oldberg offers a supermarket, bakery and chemist shop plus a couple of café/restaurants and the cottage is close enough to the major routes so as to offer easy access to larger settlements such as Zwolle and Heerenveen. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the property to those seeking a bit of peace and quiet in pleasant surroundings.

All in all, we enjoyed it very much. The house with its beautiful garden was very appealing to us. There is a fully equipped, very appealing kitchen and good, cozy mattresses. Dennis was present and approachable in a pleasantly reserved manner. Our highlight: the fish pond with its kois.

The house has a great layout and is very nicely furnished. We felt very comfortable from the beginning! The amenities are great - you don't need anything. The view of the canal behind the garden is a dream. A feel-good oasis where you can really relax and recharge. The communication with our hosts was super pleasant, we always received a quick response and very helpful tips. The "Old Painter's House" is a hidden gem for those looking for relaxation in beautiful Northern Germany.

This is a must stay. Quiet, peaceful and a great place to getaway. Everything you need is there. Gerrt is an amazing host. Very thoughtful. Always responded quickly and gave my husband and I, great ideas for a day in Assen.

We felt very comfortable in the apartment and slept well. The whole place was spotlessly clean; the kitchen well equipped. The small terrace in front of the apartment is covered. Next door to the water is a jetty that invites you to linger. Uwe was open-minded and friendly. We got excursion tips. We were able to borrow bicycles from him for a small fee. In the village there is an inn with a beautiful beer garden. The whole settlement is extremely well maintained. Dyke, bakery and supermarket are within walking distance. We highly recommend Uwe's apartment!

Very great apartment that was renovated with a lot of love and has fantastic amenities. You feel right at home. The complex is located a 500-year-old farm with a good restaurant and several apartments in the countryside. Stefan is helpful, communicative, and a great host. We will definitely be back.

We had a short but very nice stay there with two small children. The host was very friendly, everything was clean and as described! We weren't there last time.

Such a cute small apartment with everything you need. Great shower, comfortable bed, small kitchen, quiet environment, uncomplicated communication... tip top... will be happy to come back if the homesickness gets too big.

Robert is a very kind host. The accommodation looks cozy, is clean and with a lovely large garden on the lake. Breakfast was various good! Glad we could leave the trailer for the surfboard until after the competitions in the garden. In short, a very nice place to spend time.

Everything was outstanding and the money we paid was absolutely worth it. The furnished apartment is very nice and equipped with everything you need. The landlord is very friendly and great. The view from the window is fantastic. Don't hesitate to choose this apartment for your vacation – you will by no means regret it.

Highly recommend! Staying at this Airbnb was just amazing! The place was exactly as described in the pictures – clean, stylishly decorated and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. By bike or car you can quickly get to Groningen, where you can do numerous activities! Our highlight was the hot tub, which was used diligently. We would come back.

The house is beautifully decorated and has an impressive garden with pond. Nothing is missing, the beds are very comfortable and the kitchen perfectly equipped. Within walking distance there is a very family-friendly zoo. Otherwise, legal path is pure relaxation! Our big family enjoyed the days there!

What an incredibly nice and lovely cottage, in the middle of the forest and at a window. Everything was present and clean. Furniture is slightly different than in the photo, but certainly no less bad. Beds are fine, we slept wonderfully! Terrace outside is also really nice, nice in the sun. Surroundings are beautiful and wonderfully quiet. Plenty to see and do. It's a bit of a search which small path to park, but the description clearly indicates that. Owners are friendly and quick to respond. Top!

A lovely place if you want to relax. The extra attention was also great what can a person feel welcome.

To our lovely host Diet. She was excellent and very responsive. At the beginning it was little confusing about getting there but when we arrived it was very easy to find. It was excellent and peaceful for our family stay. We were aloud to use bikes so that helped us a lot for good shopping. Canoe rides were excellent. I think we cannot picked better spot for us. Neighbours were super friendly and welcomed us with smiles and fantastic attitude. We will for sure come back. 😊 Diet- thank you for having us 😊

What a great stay! Upon arrival we were welcomed by Regina. The garden house is nice and spacious, basic furnished, with everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. Everything was clean and neatly taken care of. And then that garden…....a real wow factor! A green paradise with a sheep pasture, beehives and beautiful ponds where you can stay. The surroundings are also very beautiful: Assen, Groningen and the Cuby & the Blizzards museum are all a short distance away. Regina, thank you for your hospitality – we had a very good time! Beautiful house with a great garden! Very tasteful and cozy. We felt comfortable right away and were able to enjoy the time from the first moment. The entire place was very clean and well maintained. We highly recommend the house!!! Tanja also welcomed us very nicely, was helpful and flexible on arrival and departure. All around perfect and happy to come back :)
