  • Find a hidden Glen in Scotland's woods
We'll embark upon a journey whereby we get you to a mystical place, where we'll delve deep into forrest, enjoying the song of the birds and the gushing sound of the gorge underneath us, walk along the gorge, looking down at the amazing waterfalls and taking pictures of it. Then we will get to an ancient "staircase", where we need to climb down, using the ropes alongside the "stairs" and once we get to the bottom, we'll gaze upon an amazing gorge between the rocks covered with moss, crystal clear water, cold as ice, but a place looking like a haunted scenery out a fairy tale. This is Finnich Glen, that locals thought of being a place of the devils, an isolated and remote looking area, that gives you the chills and excitement in the same time. No wonder this place has been used as a scenery for the Outlander movie. For those brave ones, who want to get further into the glen, you can roll up your pants and get into the water (warning: extremely cold) and walk along and see an amazingly mesmerising world in front of you. Other things to note A good head for heights is necessary as it involves climbing down some slippery stairs, holding onto some ropes and rocks

  • Glasgow Cathedral- Bring up the Bodies
For all History Buffs: The Old Burying Ground is a unique Flat stone Cemetery. My tour consists of visiting various Lairs in the Old Burying Ground surrounding Glasgow Cathedral, the oldest (c 1560) Burying Ground in the City, where I illustrate, with the aid of their images, the lives of those interred and by so doing show how they reflect the history and development of the City of Glasgow from late Mediaeval times to the present day . Alternative: If the weather is inclement then an internal tour of the Cathedral can be provided (depending on availability) at no extra charge. I am a Volunteer Guide at the Cathedral and eminently qualified to provide his tour also. Other things to note The Old Burial Ground is grassed, sloping and needs to be walked with care in wet weather. Footwear with square heels is recommended.

  • People Make Glasgow
This is a small private tour. Typically 4/5 guests. Remember you can add the tour of Lanarkshire which starts immediately after this tour. We meet George Square, between the Lions. For the 10.30 tour we focus on Glasgow’s city centre and it’s mysterious history and association with tobacco and slavery. Walking around the city centre ending at Glasgow Cross the heart of the Medieval city. The tour examines how Glasgow went from being a small rural medieval city around 500 ad to the world's powerhouse with a population of over a million people. The city has re-invented itself several times and is now transforming itself into one of worlds most beautiful cities from an ugly industrial despoiled blot. Trace the slave trade and the ruthless barons who profited from the mysery of millions of africans. But before them it was Scotsmen who were enslaved to colonies in the Americas. We explore Glasgow's complex social, religous and political past when tanks patrolled Glasgow city centre and riots led to executions at Glasgow Cross. Glasgow has it all from political religous and social strife. Gordon is a great raconteur, a trained actor with a comedic talent. Starting George Square, exploring the Merchant City then down to the Medieval High stree

  • Romantic Scottish Woodland Celebration
Perfect for fans of Outlander and Braveheart! After so long in lockdown, imagine at last spending a romantic day together, speaking carefully-chosen words of love and devotion to each other under a secluded canopy of trees in an ancient Scottish woodland with connections to Mary Queen of Scots. I’ll write you an unforgettable personal ceremony to celebrate that perfect moment, whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, new commitment or other relationship milestone. I’ll take time to learn about the love and hope which makes your relationship unique, then I’ll compose vows and promises for you to make to each other to perfectly express who you are. You could exchange rings or other gifts with special meaning to you, or include some traditional Scottish or Celtic symbols, which can all be done with social distancing. Eg, handfasting uses beautiful, hand-made ribbons, knotted around your wrists in an evocative and deeply moving action to demonstrate your joining and commitment. Oathing Stones of sparkling Scottish granite can be held in your hands as you speak to each other to show the strength of the promises made. A shared drink together from the quaich symbolises the ancient highland tradition of giving your word with love and trust. When your ceremony is complete, I’ll leave you with a small gift and the opportunity to explore more of your surroundings at your own pace. Other things to note Your ceremony is the essence of your experience. It can go ahead in most weather conditions except heavy rain, high winds or extreme cold. In case of poor weather I will do everything possible to deliver the ceremony under cover at a romantic indoor venue.
