Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Eastern Province

Pepper villa is surrounded by a beautiful forest environment and river with wildlife all around. Some insects do find their way inside, we watched dazzling displays by fireflies on some evenings. Dimuthu was an amazing host and showed us around the farm pointing out the different plants and where the best swimming spots were. His parents live in the farmhouse nearby and were very kind and helped us get milk and Kurds from a local farm. There are a couple of small local shops with basic supplies and it's a short bus ride to the nearest town with more shops, cafes and ATMs. We found pepper villa a great place just to relax and well placed for longer excursions by bus, tuk tuk or train.

What an adventure. We were a group of friends with people of all ages and everyone loved the space. It’s not a child friendly place but kids (and everyone else) loved the surroundings,birds and views. We hiked to the neighboring hill and were rewarded with amazing views. The hosts are very attentive and dealt with any issues proactively. It’s not an easy location but one worth making the effort to get to. The house is beautiful and rustic. An outdoor bathroom isn’t the most practical but somehow adds to the house and we can see how it would be great on the summer. The kitchen had everything we needed, we cooked all our meals with ease, and the local housekeeper is perfect if you prefer not to cook, in fact having her cook for you is a great way of empowering her to create a better life for herself and her family. Jody and Punyaka were always responsive and we hope to have the chance to visit again, it’s not an experience we will easily forget! Don’t miss Diyaluma falls (take swimsuit).

This place was immaculate! We had everything we needed and ate out at the restaurant that Arun had suggested. the food was excellent. a very relaxing place that felt like home. My family from Sri Lanka loved it and the communication with the host was instantaneous. We didn't need to communicate that often as he had told us everything we needed to know right from the beginning. Highly suggest this place if you are planning on staying in Trinco.

We had a great stay at Azeers and Leann's place! They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our time as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The accommodation itself was spacious, beautifully furnished, and very well equipped — the kitchen had everything we needed, including a washing machine, which was a great bonus. The location was perfect: just a few meters from the beach, yet quiet and secluded, offering total relaxation. We would definitely love to come back!

this is the best stay we've had so far! I'll be back in Sri Lanka in December, as a lord Elle go I'll go here again! what and friendly people who really do everything for you! They give advice with what you can do and they take you everywhere and also with a big laugh and with nice conversations in the meantime. it's then I can only give 5 stars otherwise there would really have been a lot and much more! thank you for the great experience with your stay, highly recommended for anyone going to Ella!

I spent 3 nights at the White Square Homestay and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean place in a beautiful house not far away from town (accessible by bus). The family is extremely friendly and they will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. They cook the best food that I have tried in my 7 months in Sri Lanka ! On top of the delicious food, I really enjoyed the balcony from which you can see peacocks, mangoose and grizzled giant squirrels ! I will definitely stay with Chandana's family again :)

a beautiful place to stay in Aragum Bay, lots of space, great facilities and a great host. we moved out of rooms kn the main road which were small and expensive. here we had 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, lots of living space inside and out. It is the best option for a group of 5 or 6.

My stay at this place by the water was simply & good. The natural sounds and the view of the temple create an peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. My host was fantastic!!!He speaks excellent English, gave me great tips, and even organized a full-day tour for me. He was patient, kind, and always helpful. The accommodation is slightly away from the tourist crowds—exactly what I was looking for. I stayed for two nights and was completely satisfied. The room had everything I needed, including a small balcony.

I had a wonderful stay at Kushan’s place! It was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The location was great, and the host was super responsive and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again—highly recommend! Once again Babu(caretaker) was so humble and helpful.

It was a great plessure to us stay in Samantha's place. appartement was very nice & clean. it was very comfirtable to stay there.appartement located in very calm place. City and supermarkets were within 1.5km. Samantha's appartement have a good city view. Highly reccomonded Samantha's place and willing to stay there on my next visit to nuwara eliya.

We travelled with our 3 year old daughter and had an exceptionally nice stay! We recommend it 100%. Stunning views, peaceful surroundings. Fantastic breakfasts served on the beautiful terrace. It’s even better than the pictures! The host family was extremely kind and helpful at all times. The house is located at walking distance to 9 Arch Bridge and about 15 min by tuk tuk/car from central Ella. It’s super easy to find transport and to get around. We will for sure cone back and enjoy this house and Ella! Thank you so much.

Quite nice apartment，brand new with good furniture. And the staff are friendly and professional. near the building there is a nice coffee shop，That would be better if you prepare the hair dryer😊

Incredibly kind host family. They were always helpful, gave us a ride into town and organized a scooter for us. We used the home stay to explore the Ella region. While Ella is super touristy, the town of the Airbnb is very genuine and we loved the hustle and bustle. It is a separate apartment with a separate entrance. You’ll have everything you need including 2 bedrooms, 2 new bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and terrace overlooking the property.

Great value for money for 6 of us. Each bedroom has its only lovely clean bathroom. washing machine was great to have access to. kitchen well appointed & property big enough to feel comfortable in for a group our size

We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of a three week trip around Sri Lanka. It was a great way to end the trip, in a clean, air-conditioned and spacious apartment overlooking the sea. The setting is perfect - sunrise over the sea and picture postcard beach and palms in between. The apartment is part of a larger complex, but it never felt crowded and the pool and surrounding greenery were lovely. It’s clean, comfortable and spacious, perfect for a family. There are a few restaurants and amenities within walking distance but most stuff is either a hot walk or a tuk tuk ride away. It’s worth pointing out that if you’re planning to self-cater, there aren’t many grocery stores in the area and those that are there are sometimes sparsely provisioned. We tended to have breakfast in the apartment and then lunch and dinner locally. All in all, a fantastic base for a relaxing few days - we’d happily return and can equally happily recommend it.

Loved the place here. Everything was so organised and felt like we were staying in a 5 star property. The beach view was amazing! We made full use of our 2 day stay here by going to the beach and the pool. I had only 1 issue which is the lock in the common bathroom was not working. This was fixed in 1 day but , so that would be the only issue I faced. Outside of that I will highly recommend this place!

Where do I start? We arrived and were struck by the beautiful pool and gardens. The apartment is stunning - palacial in size! The photos don’t do it justice and the huge balcony offers stunning views of the garden, pool and beach. It was honestly the best apartment we’ve ever stayed in. The condo manager was also friendly and helpful with any queries we had. We had planned to visit Trinco but decided to make the most of the apartment and beach to relax. The balcony offers the perfect location to capture the awesome sunrise over the ocean. We used a local company (Pigeon Island Tours) to visit Pigeon Island for a snorkel safari - amazing sea life! We could have stayed longer but regretfully had to continue our adventure of this beautiful country. The apartment was a 10/10! Thank you Nalinda.

The flat in Nuwara Eliya was perfect for what we needed: two nights in a clean and spacious apartment. The flat has everything you need to make you feel like home: comfy beds, TV with access to smart tv, great kitchen, fridge, etc. It’s also very close to the Gregory lake and an amazing cafe that we went to for the 2 mornings we were there: Ayurveda Coffee Shop. Communication with Jeni was fine too, although we never met, the arrangements to check in/out were easy and clear.

A great hotel and apartment. Located right next to the beach. Beautiful beach and view. A very quiet location. Super friendly staff.

The Grand Winterbury apartment was a great find for us to stay in Nuwera Eliya. Not far from the city centre yet private location. The apartment was well maintained with functioning kitchen with necessary equipment to make tea or coffee and to make a small meal.
