The place is nice as expected

We had a lovely stay and appreciated the proximity to the southern coast sights. The host was very responsive and flexible about our check-in. We previously stayed in the cabin before the new addition, and the new wing of the cabin and the hot tub and deck are wonderful. Comfortable beds, multiple bathrooms, and the perfect amount of space for our family of four to spread out after a day of exploring! A great home base for the south coast!

The cottage is definitely “little”, and the bedroom is possibly the smallest I’ve ever slept in. However, the use of space is very smart and efficient, and personal touches and care are evident everywhere. The agricultural setting is lovely, and several times we were amused to find our departure slowed by a herd of cattle being driven down our access road to another pasture. The host, Heidar, was extremely responsive and attentive, particularly tipping us that the Northern Lights might be seen the last night…and we stayed up to see a spectacular display!

The perfect cabin in stunning surroundings! One of our favourite airbnbs in Iceland. Lovely views, well equipped and a good size for our family of 5. I even saw my first ever northern lights!

The house is spectacular, very comfortable, clean, spacious, with all amenities available. The landlady is very friendly and was in touch at all times, with local recommendations. The area is quiet and perfect for seeing Northern lights. The only downside is that there is only one bathroom for many people. But it was already advertised like this. No doubt if I go back to Iceland I would come back. 100% Recommended!

Nice place close to Skogafoss

The small cabin was beautiful and in a great location to access Vik to the east and a number of hiking trails to waterfalls even nearer. Great WiFi and adequately stocked kitchen. One odd design decision - the cabin windows don’t point towards the cliff and waterfall view. So the primary view from inside the cabin is a simple flat grasslands. This made the place not feel worth the extra expense.

Thank you for sharing your lovely space with our family - we had an absolutely great time and would highly recommend this place to others wishing to explore the South of Iceland.

We had a magical stay at Sjornohall! The unique setting amongst the moss covered pseudo-craters feels like it’s from a movie and the views of the Northern Lights were breathtaking. The locations makes a great base for visiting Vik, as well as visiting the National Park with ice cave tours. Audur is thoughtful, kind, and very responsive. She even let my kids meet her chickens, horses, and dogs which was a highlight of our stay for them. The house had every amenity we could have needed, as well as many unique extra touches. We hope to return again some day!
