Perfect for two but you can squeeze in a third person if you are all good friends. 1/2 a block from Adams Avenue Normal Heights business district with many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops to explore. Also close to the 8, 805, and 15 freeways for quick access all over town. Walking distance to the 11 and 2 bus lines for easy car free access to downtown and beyond.
Private space inside gated fence includes covered patio, cozy bungalow with full sized bed and day bed, open concept bathroom covered in Italian tiles, armoire, and a coveted parking space 1/2 block from restaurants, bars, and cafes.
The bungalow is located in Normal Heights half a block from the main street, Adams Ave. Adams Avenue is home to numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops. We have street fairs and music festivals a couple of times a year.
  • The place was beautiful and great location to many bars and coffee shops. Very cool neighborhood . The only negative was that the wifi did not work in the bungalow. It seemed maybe the router was in the main house and did not have a strong enough signal to reach the bungalow. Other than that Gwynne was very accommodating and helpful. Would stay here again!

  • Great place for a quick trip to San Diego. Close to a lot of things to do!

  • It was a great stay. Bathroom was little awkward but overall clean place.

  • This is a nice little space. It has an independent entrance from an alley, and you could park in the enclosed area if you don't find street parking. I liked the funky Adams Street neighborhood too!

  • Great location and cozy spot

    Bryan2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gwynne was a perfect host. The bungalow was just the right size for our stay (3 adults and a toddler). There is no formal kitchen which is fine since I️ was prepared for that. There is a microwave and mini fridge. Great location for places to walk to and eat out and not too far from the SD zoo, beaches, airport and New Children’s Museum (about 10-15 min drive to each). Would stay again. Thank you!

    Taylor2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gwynne's space felt like our home away from home! We highly recommend you stay in this central location for Normal Heights!

    Chantelle2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow was very nice itself, and great for my girlfriend and I for a week in San Diego. It was clean, tidy, and had all the basic essentials. The neighborhood seems like it's 50/50 to me. On one side, it seems like its on the up, and it's a short walk to the very cool Normal Heights and Adams Ave, which is filled with tons of neat coffee shops, bars, and breweries. The other part of the neighborhood has a very urban, inner city kind of vibe and seems to have more lower-income or homeless wandering around. We heard loud music and some commotions outside the place a few nights during our stay. This would be less concerning if it wasn't for the entrance of the bungalow being in a back alley. Gwynne was very thoughtful and helpful in providing us some peace of mind and it was well-equipped with a spot light and chained padlock, however I would be amiss to leave it unmentioned that we did not always feel safe walking home late at night.

Private room in bright, freshly renovated craftsman home in center of Normal Heights. Short walk to Vons (grocery store), boutique shopping, and popular bars and restaurants. Normal heights is centrally located approx, 10-15mins drive to downtown, beaches, San Diego international airport, and Mission Valley shopping precinct. There is free street parking all around the property.
  • This is an excellent find for the value. I agree with the previous reviews in the bathtub and rain shower are superb. Closed and excellent post to those over and above the time keeping things sparkling clean, offering friendly conversation, and making my stay very comfortable. He even allowed me to park in his driveway as my car was packed with many of my belongings, so that could be safer off the street. The two dogs were so sweet and a welcome respite from the weariness of travel. The decor is super modern, simple and clean. The location is great and they’re easy stopping for food and supplies as well as coffee shops and cute shopping all within walking distance

  • Michael was very friendly and gave us our space the whole time. He was very understanding and loved to learn about everything my fiancé talked about. The house was sparkling clean and comfortable I would definitely recommend ! :)

    Miricle2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Michael's. It was short but exactly what I wanted, a very good night sleep on a comfy bed and a hot shower in a very clean bathroom. Highly recommended!

  • One of the best places I’ve stayed at by far. Definitely coming back.

  • Michael was a great host. He allowed us to leave our stuff way before the check-in time and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, beaches and activities in general. It was a pleasure to stay there and we can only recommend this place to everyone.

Bright, clean room available in a charming, craftsman home, situated in a vibrant urban neighborhood. This guest room is the only bedroom downstairs, so you'll feel like you have the whole house to yourself. Your private bath is just steps down a short hall. Centrally located in Normal Heights, with local shops, cafes and bars within close walking distance. Host is a San Diego native who loves helping guests have their best stay.
The bedroom features a queen bed with a brand new Tuft & Needle mattress, and fresh white linens. There's a nice sized closet with a luggage rack and a dresser to store your belongings. A ceiling fan, window A/C unit, and lots of windows offer plenty of natural light and fresh air. The private bathroom is down a short hall and features a full shower and oversized tub. Guests are welcome to make coffee/tea in the kitchen and enjoy the serene back patio. The home itself is clean, quiet and charming, decorated with a mix of modern furnishings and antique accents.
Normal Heights is one of the trendiest neighborhoods in central San Diego. Enjoy bars, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and shops all within a close walk of the house. Destinations like North Park, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, the Convention Center, Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, La Jolla, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach are all just minutes away.
  • I've stayed at a lot of Airbnbs, and this is by far one of the best ones I've encountered. First off, the house is really charming inside. The bedroom and bathroom had everything I needed for my short stay--everything felt like it was really high quality. The bed was so comfortable and the whole space was immaculately clean and perfectly outfitted. I never take baths in public places, and I treated myself to a bath in the sparkling clean, oversized bathtub. I stayed on a warm night and really appreciated the ceiling fan and window A/C unit--the room stayed cool and comfortable. I had fun walking around the neighborhood and checking out all the restaurants, bars and shops. In the morning, I really enjoyed having coffee on the back patio, which is sunny and lovely. This place just has a great vibe. I only met Andee briefly, and she was so kind and accommodating. She offered me some local recommendations based on my interests and itinerary, all of which were great. Her dog, Sammy, is sweet and chill--I only saw him once. Overall, this place is top quality, and I can't wait to return. Thanks, Andee!

    Tania2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Andee was an amazing host who not only shared a beautiful clean space to rest our heads but wonderful insights on local places to visit. We felt comfortable and at ease as Andee made sure our needs were met even down to offering us sunscreen, which we forgot! If we’re ever in town again, we’d definitely stay at Andee’s place and suggest you do the same! This space will not disappoint! Thanks again for an amazing stay!

    Stephan2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Andee’s place is super clean, comfortable and welcoming. She is a great host and I highly recommend staying at her place during your next visit to San Diego.

    Erin2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect with Andee’s place. I’ve stayed in San Diego before but not in this area. I have to say Normal Heights is now my favorite neighborhood and I will ALWAYS stay at Andee’s place if possible. Andee was simply an amazing host. She was very communicative and helpful when I had questions. The room in the house is well-appointed and her home is lovely and spotless. She left some goodies for me in the frig, which was so thoughtful. Sam the dog was sweet too. My favorite part is the backyard space which is tranquil and private. My only regret is that I was only there a short time and didn’t get to use it more. One of the best things about Andee’s place is that it is walking distance to great restaurants and bars. When I come back I plan to stay longer so I can explore more.

    Robin2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andee's place was great! Fantastic location, sparkling clean, cute house & patio, and very easy experience. I'd absolutely stay there again.

    Justin2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andee's place is clean, stylish, and in the perfect location walking distance from a number of different shops, restaurants and local spots. I've stayed in a number of different airbnb's around town over the years, but Andee's has - by far - been the best. This space is truly welcoming and I'd recommend it to anyone. Especially if you're a dog lover like I am, Sam is such a treat!

    Rafael Gabriel2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Andee is an incredible host! Her communication skills are so impeccable. She was so friendly and kind. She makes you truly feel at home which is so important in my opinion. My boyfriend and I both thoroughly enjoyed Andee’s home. We hope she still is offering a room on Air BnB when we come back to San Diego next year. Her place was always about 15 minutes away from every place we visited which was so awesome. We come every year to this beautiful city and this was our favorite trip thus far. Andee even offered recommendations that we ended up doing that were all great suggestions. There was literally no downside to our trip other than having to leave has me a bit down. 😂 This city is filled with such beautiful souls. I could go on and on about Andee and the home- but I’m sure most people have stopped reading by now 😂 thanks again, Andee!

Be one of the first to enjoy my newly renovated guesthouse in the heart of Normal Heights - just steps away from shops, bars, restaurants and boutiques of San Diego's most unique urban neighborhood. The space was designed specifically with AirBNB in mind. #WEACCEPT Regardless of your age, race, religion, nationality, immigration status, sexual orientation, or preferred gender pronoun, I am happy to welcome you to Normal Heights, and I hope you'll feel right at home during your stay.
The guesthouse was designed specifically with AirBNB in mind. It is a fully private, detached space that was converted into a stylish one bedroom studio with full bath - basically your own master suite.
Normal Heights is San Diego's coolest, most centrally located neighborhood, with restaurants, bars and shops located within just a few steps of the home. Grab a quick cup of coffee at Dark Horse Cafe or enjoy one of San Diego's best yoga studios, Pilgrimage of the Heart - both are next door! Some of our favorite spots include: The Rabbit Hole (1.5 blocks), The Ould Sod (1 block), LeStats (1 block), Polite Provisions/Soda and Swine (3 blocks), AC Lounge (3 blocks). We're conveniently located just a few blocks from bustling North Park, Kensington and University Heights.
  • Drew's place is cute, comfortable studio just blocks away from cool commercial district. I appreciated being able to walk to restaurants and cafes. Never actually met Drew, but he communicated very well and had everything setup nicely.

  • House in great area and also has private entrance and outdoor space to chill. Many beaches around. Parking is not too friendly in the evenings. Recommend host hire new cleaning crew---house should have been cleaner. We had to re clean many areas.

  • Private, clean, and had no issues! Easy Uber/Lyft to anywhere in San Diego.

    Michael2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Drew's place was very nice and central to so many different places to eat see and even the freeway!

    Sam2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location. Went to the local yoga studio for a class. Everyone my wife and I encountered in the neighborhood was helpful and nice. Drew's place was our first stop in our honeymoon and it was a great place to start.

    Luis2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Drew was a great host although we didn't get a chance to meet. We did meet one of his friendly pups! The place was exactly how it looks in the pictures and described. Drew also provided bottled water and beer. The area was great. Very central. There was a couple good breakfast spots we tried near by: breakfast republic, Kensington cafe, and another one with Elvis decor everywhere (can't recall name). I'd recommend anyone to stay here. Street parking was not bad either.

    Shereen2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location and very comfortable accommodations. The TV didn't work due to connection issues. The dogs were adorable and we were overall very impressed with our stay!

    Monique2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great, Drew is a super host. The guest house is brand new and was super clean. Go ahead, it's a very good deal !

  • Aaron was an amazing host: quick to respond, friendly, and very accommodating! His home was a perfect home away from home and me and my 3 other traveling companions fit comfortably at the "35th" house. Aside from minor missteps which I informed Aaron about: - doorknob to master bedroom is a bit loose/hard to turn - front door is hard to open and shut, it doesn't completely close at the top - hot tub jet bubbles don't work :( - some knobs on the drawers are loose throughout house - shower door in master bath doesn't fully close ..everything else was GREAT! Close to fwys and local eateries and bars. WiFi worked GREAT, which is important to me as I needed to work a few hours out of the day. Neighborhood feels safe and the beds are comfy! Love the backyard and spacious driveway. I will definitely look to stay at any of Aaron's properties and recommend him to family + friends. Thanks Aaron for your hospitality!!

    Ailyne2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Aaron was a wonderful host and his home is lovely! It may be the most well appointed Air BNB we have ever encountered. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking at home and there are big fluffy towels for the hot tub. You will enjoy fresh lemons and limes that fall off the trees daily. We really enjoyed the yard and back deck. Just perfect. And two thumbs up for the off street parking. (Don't underestimate the value of off street parking if you are staying anywhere in San Diego) The Normal Heights area is so fun and vibrant, but feels like a much smaller community in some ways. You can walk to all sorts of lovely spots on Adams Ave. easily from this rental. Thanks, Aaron for the hospitality--we will definitely be back!

  • Great house close to resuraunts and to KMYF

    Cody2016-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The garden is amazing. The master bedroom is good, with a queen size bed. But the bed in the secondbedroom is just a full size and it's a little bit small for two adults. I am a little bit disappointed since I double confirmed with Aaron and he told me it should be 2 queen size beds. it was my fault when I booked it I assumed the house should have AC (actually it didn't have ac), but the heater made the living room so hot even though it was turned off. I called Aaron, but he didn't answer it and didn't call me back until the late night I had to call him again. It turned out I need to turn off both the gas and the heater together, but I don't why the gas is on even though the heater is off. The water in the jacuzzi was a little bit dirty on the first night when we arrived, but it was clear again the next day.

  • Linda was very accommodating had good knowledge of local drinks and eats her place was beautiful

    Alex2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The host Linda is a very hospitable person that provides lots of amenities. The rooms are kept clean. Interaction is kept to a minimum which is great. You really feel like you're all to yourself. Parking was good. The location is close to a few bars and eateries. The house is spacious inspite of its unassuming exterior. There is lots to do in the area. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in beautiful San Diego. Linda made my Airbnb experience a memorable one. Highly recommend.

    Matthew2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's house is beautiful and really is a 'vibrant retreat.' It's in an excellent location for walking to restaurants and bars, and quick to get into downtown San Diego or the beaches. I didn't have a car this time, but it seemed like there was lots of on street parking. I was in the shared bath room and she provided little carriers for guests to tote items back and forth to the bathroom - very thoughtful. The place is really clean, colorful and comfortable. The bed was comfy with quality sheets and quilts/comforters. Check in is easy and she checked to see if I needed anything. She's nice too.

    Janice2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s home was an absolutely delight! Unfortunately, she wasn’t home most of the time I was there, but her communication was quick and friendly, her home was incredibly stylish and comfortable and her neighborhood had plenty to do! I would absolutely recommend this location.

  • This was a wonderful beginning and end to every day spent in San Diego while in town for wedding planning. It was the perfect size for what we needed, yet home-y and warm. Brad and Ashley were extremely communicative whenever needed and even dropped by with a few local beers for my fiancé, which he LOVED! Highly recommend this stay. Easy access to highways, quiet, and in a cute area to explore in itself.

  • Our family (3 people) stayed in the house for two weeks in August and I must say we enjoyed the every aspect of it! The two-storied house is one of the biggest in the neighbourhood, has two spacious bedrooms and well equipped bathrooms. The area is safe and quiet allowing you to have a perfect sleep event with open windows (or use the AC when its too hot). In the kitchen you will find absolutely everything you'll require even for a long stay. The backyard is a very relaxing place and great as a playground for kids. Dedicated parking space is also provided – and this is something you really need when staying in Normal Heights. The location is close to every attraction; the drive to beaches, Downtown (Little Italy / Gaslamp quarter / Stadium), Balboa Park and Zoo, University fo San Diego takes just about 15 minutes. The proximity to Interstate 5 and 805 grants easy access to La Jolla and other towns in San Diego County, as well as to Mexico.

  • Max's house in Normal Heights is hands down one of the best Airbnb's I've stayed at in San Diego! It was spotless, the location is amazing, and the photos don't do it justice. Our group had ample space & we spent HOURS in the yard because it was set up so nicely! Max's communication was 100% & I will undoubtedly be back the next time I am in San Diego!

    Stewart2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Max’s house was amazing! We found everything that we needed and more. We felt at our own home and enjoyed every second. The house was extremely clean and everything is nicely arranged. Lots of plants and nice atmosphere.

  • My boyfriend and I were welcomed by Summer who was nothing but helpful during our stay. The Spanish Studio was exactly what we expected. Everything was clean and we felt right at home. The neighborhood was great. Nice and quiet. It was a little difficult to find parking but who cares right? You're in San Diego. The location is key. You are close to everything! About 15min drive to all the attractions. Needless to say the stay was awesome!!! Thanks Summer and Jonathan! Definitely recommend to anyone. We will be coming back =D

    Midori2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the cozy, clean and hip studio! Summer goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, and is friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the local area. Special touches like sparkling water, fruit, coffee, and gourmet chocolates made it feel like home.

    Angie2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great tidy place to stay. Host has great attention to detail leaving us nice chocolates and snacks. Comfy bed.

  • Beautiful quiet apartment in a trendy neighborhood -complete with everything you would need for a great stay. Summer and Jonathan are fantastic hosts.

    Erin2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, central to everything in San Diego. The room was cozy and clean, the hosts even thoughtful enough to leave snacks out. The only issue was parking. I did not enjoy having to drive around for 15 to 20 mins to only find parking 2 blocks away. Parking has never been an issue when staying at other Airbnb’s. If you have a car expect trouble with parking.

    Antone2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • I read a lot of good things about Summer and Jonathan's place and it didn't disappoint. The space was spotless and was decorated with a modern, stylish hand. Both the bed and the sleeper sofa were very comfortable and the linens, bath and bed both, were of high quality. They left us some local chocolates, water, snacks and a fully stocked kitchen which we used quite a bit. I didn't know the city before coming down but as it turns out the neighborhood, Normal Heights, was extremely convenient. We went to the zoo, downtown, to La Jolla, to the harbor, and shopping, and we felt very centrally located. As some others have said parking can be a challenge, but I was in by 5-6 the 5 nights we stayed and never had to walk more than a block from where I parked. My mother is already saying that next time we go to San Diego we must stay here again. Thank you!

    Elizabeth2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I love the mid-century decorations. The place is so clean and organized. Summer and Jonathan gave us guidelines of places to go, which we found were really helpful.

  • very nice place, me and my dog loved it! the off-street parking space was the best part, parking can be scarce in that part of san diego

    Jessica2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • One of my best Airbnb stays in San Diego, the most convenient feature for me was the designated parking space. I would stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

Quaint and small accommodations in the heart of Normal Heights - This place is perfect for experienced "couch surfers" who LOVE (and I mean LOVE) cats. Your main hostess for this space is a 14-lb Maine Coon mix named "Fluffy." She will eagerly greet you as you arrive, roams freely, and performs an occasional inspection of your items. She will also perform basic tricks in exchange for treats to ensure that her guests are thoroughly entertained.
Our apartment is located on the second floor. The sofa bed is Queen-sized with an optional twin air mattress. Full-use of the kitchen is permitted. Unfortunately, there is no parking. Laundry services available to those staying longer than one week.
  • My boyfriend and I were in San Diego for four nights at Merica’s place. She was welcoming and very chilled out - so easy to talk to. Check in was seamless and communication was fantastic. Fluffy is the star of the show however. Honourable mention to Hugo the tortoise. Thanks for having us, See you when we are back in San Diego!

    Jessie2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Marica is a fabulous, thoughtful host! Her space is quiet, comfortable, and well situated. Fluffy the cat is just as friendly! The couch does fold out but honestly it’s quiet comfy as is.

    Amber2018-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Marica and Fluffy were an amazing host. Marica is also a bartender on the weekend and she was able to get me and my friend drinks. Her place is so clean and warming. It’s also in the perfect location for where ever you need to go. Highly love the entire stay with her and I recommend this place to anyone.

This cozy tiny home is 225 ft and the spacious and private deck that looks over the valley is 350 sq ft. This hidden treasure, Normal Heights, is just minutes from downtown San Diego. Normal Heights is sandwiched between Kensington to the east and University Heights to the west, and it is the funkiest of the two. Where Kensington is upper class and University Heights is quiet, Normal Heights is diverse, a bit eclectic, and always interesting.
This tiny home has a lot of lighting and tons of good juju. The outdoor deck is quite large and over looks the valley. Great place to read a book, have morning coffee and meditate. Many great conversations and bonding happen in this space, of course with your adult beverage of choice as well as dine at the table with take out or your cooked meal. Feel free to use the wet bar. We love this space and hope you do too.
Normal Heights is great for neighborhood dive bars: the Triple Crown Pub, Rosie O'Grady's are popular, but the best may be the Ould Sod—an authentic Irish pub. Lestat's Coffee House is the hipster hangout in the neighborhood, and its adjoining performance space is where you can hear great local music almost every night. If shopping is more your idea for entertainment, you'll find lots of used book and clothing stores in Normal Heights. There's also Antique Row, located along the stretch of road west of I-805.
  • Great communication with the host.everything as expected.

    Victoria2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our only regret about booking this place was that we didn’t stay longer! Adams Ave is barely a five minute walk away, and if you’re into craft beers and great coffee then this spot is sensational! Beautiful view of the mountain and the little unit itself was so cool with an amazing outdoor deck for working or taking it easy. Thanks for having us!

    Lauren2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to crash for the night! Sarah was quick with communication and thorough in her responses. The room was in a great location, close to many shops and restaurants. The room itself was pretty basic, but that's all we needed! Happy we found this place.

  • Such an adorable place to stay! The private back patio is large and perfect for having breakfast in the morning or lounging in the evening. Everything was clean and tidy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Sarah is a lovely host who gave us great directions, and offered to give us suggestions of places to check out in the neighborhood. Definitely a hidden gem! I would love to stay here again.

Unfortunately, the place was not according to the pictures.it was very dusty and made my wife sick. Hopefully your stay will be different. Aside from everything, the host was great and understanding. • This place was spotless, really well-decorated, and designed in a way that just works so well with a cozy space. Dan and Britt were very quick to respond when we had questions, and made us feel right at home. And the bed was super comfortable!! I took many luxurious naps in that wonderful bed! The immediate neighborhood isn’t super walkable, but you are a very short drive to 30th street which had tons of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and cute stores. We were out a lot and didn’t utilize the outdoor patio, but it is a nice, quiet and relaxing space outdoors. All in all, a great little place to rest our heads after spending days exploring San Diego.

  • Great little back cottage close to everything. Secure entry and nighttime motion lights even, which is appreciated as a female traveler. Great communication with hosts. Nice and tidy and stylish. Highly recommended

  • We had a nice and comfortable stay here! The place is decorated very well and it is perfect for a couple. It is in a nice and central area and it's a quick drive to most things. The bed and pillows were amazing. Only 15 minutes to the airport! The hosts are great and very thoughtful. My only complaint would be that we did spend about 40 minutes trying to park one afternoon, but I do not fault the hosts as they have no control over that. Just be aware you are at the mercy of whatever street parking is available at any given time if you choose to have a vehicle here.

    Tiera2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

  • Thankful for people like Adam in the airbnb community. He greeted us with a smile and was quick to respond to our questions. The place is nice with a really comfortable king size bed. There's a huge courtyard with charming lights and a bbq grill for the warm San Diego evenings. Very conveniently located while in a very quiet neighborhood. Would recommend 5/5.

This cozy, bright, and lovingly maintained 2 bedroom Craftsman house is located in the heart of San Diego. It’s perfect for a couple, a small family, or 2-3 friends; has AC, and is well-equipped for a brief or a longer stay. Guests have full access to 2 bedrooms, the kitchen, living room, deck, and laundry. The neighborhood is safe, fun, and lively, and has several restaurants and bars within walking distance. There is free parking on the street and a driveway for smaller cars. Enjoy!
We provide most essentials for a comfortable stay, and leave plenty of space for guest to spread out. The house is a little over 600 square feet, but offers enough space to both socialize and have privacy. It's perfect for a solo traveler, a couple or a small family, or 2-3 friends traveling together. Two couples are fine, but there's only room for 3 non-co-sleeping adults. The house has wifi, and a TV with Roku (no cable TV). We have all the standard kitchen appliances, and you're welcome to use our washer and dryer. Although there isn't an office, there are several laptop-friendly surfaces to pick from. We welcome families with children and provide a few baby and kid items. The house is generally very safe but not specifically "child-proof" so children's safety is solely the responsibility of their accompanying adults.
The house is located in Normal Heights, a safe, diverse, fun, primarily residential neighborhood. Lively Adams Ave is a short walk away and offers some of the best coffee shops in town, cafes, local restaurants, and a few great low-key bars. 30th street is a little further away, but still walking distance, offering a range of great local restaurants. Most San Diego attractions -- the beaches, the Zoo, Balboa Park, Sea World etc -- are within 10-15 minutes by car. There are several iconic Southern California beach towns within a 30-40 minute drive: La Jolla, Del Mar, Oceanside and a few others.
  • My friends and me really enjoyed staying at Janes and Gregs house. Every room was very clean, it had great facilities, easy check in and check out and also the location was perfect. Restaurants, bars and grocery are close. We can definitely recommend staying here and we hope to come back soon!

  • Place is good to group of 3-4. Lot is shops available in neighborhood and also close to gaslamp quarter. Good option for TV.. netflix, amazon etc. house is old and you can feel it.. crack noise while you walk on floor in some areas. Too much weed both in frontyard and backyard. No ventilation in washroom. You need to open window everytime u take a bath

  • My husband and I found Louie’s studio to be a good value for the money, and a comfortable base when we were in San Diego for a few days of vacation. The studio is located in an unpretentious neighborhood, where we found interesting restaurants along Adams Avenue (Vietnamese, vegetarian, vegan). There was also plenty of space in the studio for us to prepare a few simple meals and to heat up leftovers. From this side of town, we were able to drive pretty quickly to explore the gardens and museums at Balboa Park , the microbreweries in North Park, and the independent movie theater in Kensington. Since it was rainy (not Louie’s fault!), we didn’t try to access the beaches or the downtown area, so can’t comment on convenience to those spots. While we didn’t meet Louie, he made check-in very easy, and he was very responsive when we emailed him a few questions once in the studio. In short, we were very satisfied with our Airbnb choice.

This newly renovated detached casita is located in the awesome neighborhood of Normal Heights - close to all major freeways and just a quick walk to many of the city's best breweries, tap rooms, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. It's a cozy and very clean space, with thoughtful craftsmanship and modern design throughout. As the photos show, a comfortable Murphy bed and a wheeled couch allows you to transform the main space from a living room/office to a bedroom in seconds.
Among other things, amenities include a private entrance and patio, an electric fireplace, a shared ping-pong table, wifi, and Roku. It does not have a full kitchen, but it has a small fridge, a kitchen sink, a microwave, dining sets, and utensils.
The unit is located on a quiet side-street, just a quick walk away from many of the city's most delicious and fun offerings! A few of our walk-able favorites include Blind Lady for a phenomenal draft beer selection and the best pizza in San Diego, Ponce's for Mexican, Cucina Sorella for Italian, and DaoFu for spicy Asian fusions. For dessert, try one of the several local home made ice cream shops, like An’s Dry Cleaning (yes, it's an ice cream shop), Moosie's, or Mariposa. If you just walk either direction down Adams Ave, you will find something fun and/or delicious in no time. People in this neighborhood are very friendly, welcoming, and down to earth. It's a great place to meet new lifelong friends!
  • Had my reservations about staying in such a small place for a week but that changed quickly. There is so much to do nearby that it worked perfectly because my girlfriend and I weren't inside that much. Also, Scott made us feel at ease by making the effort to introduce himself on the first day. The place felt like home before we left and that made us sad to leave. All in all would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying for a long or short stay.

    Marc2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This casita was amazing for our weekend trip! The space is modern and clean, and the hosts provided all the things one might need. The private patio area with bar stools were a lovely touch and there's even a ping pong table for guest use! Would definitely stay again.

    Claire2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We definitely recommend staying at Scott’s place. Scott is an amazing host, who will answer within seconds, gives great tips and has a great personality. The casita is very clean and has everything one need for a short stay in San Diego. It even comes with a ping pong table! The neighborhood is nice and quiet and very close to North Park where you can find great restaurants, bars etc. Scott will happily give you tips where to find the best food in San Diego. We would stay again! Thanks again Scott for everything :)

    Rebecca2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Although I did not get to meet Scott in person, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at his place. He was very communicative throughout the visit and provided us with awesome recommendations for places to eat and things to do in San Diego, as it was our first time visiting. The place was very clean and private. It is clear that Scott put a lot of effort into making this cozy Casita feel accommodating for any visitor. Thanks again!

  • We were lucky to score such an awesome place! Scott and Jaime were wonderful hosts. They were communicative and hospitable and we really enjoyed their recommendation book. The private casita was perfect. The cozy and productive use of space had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area.

    Anamichel2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Decided to come to San Diego for one year anniversary with my girlfriend and could not have asked for a better place to stay! Great location and hosts gave us excellent recommendations on restaurants, bars, and activities in the area. Will 100% be booking another stay in the future!

    Elias2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time staying here! It is perfectly located in a hip neighborhood, yet the house itself is quiet and relaxing. The casita is bright and cozy, and the perfect size for two people. We appreciated that they thought of ways to maximize the space, such as the Murphy bed and rolling furniture. We had our own entrance and exit (and privacy), and the space is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. The wi-fi was fast and everything was well kept and very clean. The hosts, Scott and Jaime, were chill, friendly and very responsive. They even gave us a detailed guide of their favorite local activities, bars and restaurants (many within walking distance) and their recommendations are spot on. We LOVED the Blind Lady Ale House! We will definitely stay here again the next time we are adventuring in San Diego.

    Karen2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! We were greeted with early check in and homemade cupcakes (which were probably the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted). The space is super efficient; it’s very easy to convert from a living room to a bedroom, and the bed and pillows were very comfy. It’s also very stylish and has everything you need. While there is no AC, the two fans kept the place cool. Plus, we were able to keep the door open at night and hang the bug screen to cool the place down more. Great location with a ton of restaurants walking distance. We ate at the ramen place the hosts recommended and it was top notch! We were always able to find parking within half a block. The hosts were great and super communicative. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Me and my boyfriend had a great time staying at this studio. Very cozy and clean, great location. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

    Margarita2015-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Bills place for two nights and it was absolutely perfect. Bill was so friendly and gave us many suggestions of things to see/eat/do. Normal heights was a cute town and there were many restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. I had the best coffee of my life at Dark Horse on Adams Ave. I would highly recommend staying at Bills place if you find yourself in San Diego.

    Liz2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bill knows the area of North Park and Normal Heights, the adjacent neighborhoods near his space. He is able to connect visitors with local restaurants and sites, as well as his knowledge of the greater San Diego area. The space he has created for visitors is private, quiet, and restful. It is centrally-located and makes getting around very easy. I would definitely make my way back to Bill's place for future visits to San Diego!

  • Thank you for being a great host. We had a lovely time.

  • Our stay was fantastic! Bill was super kind and insightful. He gave us tips on things we could do as well as how to avoid the hassle of being able to find parking (which was a plus!). He offered a washing machine and dryer which was super useful and much needed to our stay. We were surrounded by trees and they had a little garden in front of the house. The house was in the middle of everything were you could walk to a small shopping district with plenty of bars , coffee stops , and clothing stores. (Go to lestas!). We had a great time and We will definitely be coming back in the near future. Thanks again!

    Isaac2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The space is exactly as described and pictured. Bill is really nice and great for advice on the neighborhood. We would definately stay again.

It’s walking distance to restaurants and good breweries/bars, and if you’re renting a car it’s just a short drive to all the must-sees. Parking was sometimes difficult, which we were informed about, but we always ended up finding a spot. The room was clean, comfy, and had all the amenities we needed. There were even some snacks available in the kitchen. John was overall an excellent host. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Stayed 3 nights in April. Nice little spot tucked away but close to everything. 12 minutes to beach, close to Balboa Park & Old Town. Safe neighborhood - place was nice and clean. Tiny kitchen but adequate. A/C worked well. Bed was very comfortable upstairs. We didn’t use the fold out couch bed. Cozy little cottage.

    Jordan2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very clean and stylish. The AC helped keep us cool in the summer heat and the tv was entertaining during down time. We also appreciated the kitchenette for cooking or reheating food. The bed was the best part - it was so comfy! We gave four stars because although most things were great, there were some issues with check in time and figuring out the door lock. Despite these, any problems that we ran into were quickly resolved by the host. Thanks for the comfortable stay!

Normal Heights is an awesome, well sought-after area of San Diego. Centrally located between 3 major freeways (I-8, I-15 and the 805, and I -5 is only 5-7 minutes away) and minutes to all major San Diego attractions. Located in the urban mesa neighborhoods north of Balboa Park, Normal Heights has a high rate of pedestrian activity. The stretch of Adams Avenue between Texas Street on the west and Ohio Street on the east is sometimes referred to as Antique Row, due to its numerous antique stores. A landmark neon sign over Adams Avenue at Felton Street identifies the neighborhood. Today, what's "normal" is to find unique book & antique stores, coffee shops and restaurants - stretched out along a dozen blocks on either side of a restored central business district along Adams Avenue. Normal Heights has been described as "one of the most walkable neighborhoods in San Diego". Several important neighborhood events take place in Normal Heights. The Adams Avenue Street Fair, Southern California's largest free music festival, is typically held the last weekend in September. • A cozy, welcoming, and private cottage in Normal Heights, a great neighborhood very close to Downtown San Diego. We had everything we needed upon arrival, and Brian and Justin were there for us if we had any questions. We tried several local restaurants and loved them all -- and we could easily get to beaches, Torrey Pines State Park, La Jolla Cove, and Little Italy. Then we could return to our private cottage and enjoy the delightful outdoor space and fountain.

    Cami2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Good morning Brian amd Justin. I really did look forward to my stay and it was AMAZING!!!!!!! THE COTTAGE IS AMAZING!!! When I got their, I already fell in love with fountain. Thank you so much for making my experience with airbnb a wonderful experience. Thank you for answering all of my questions right away. Its a beautiful place inside and out and I'm already looking forward to another trip. I strongly recommend this warm and beautiful cottage to those who want to relax peacfully and be taken away by this place. :)

  • Brian and Justin were great hosts! We would recommend their place!

    Donaciano2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a great stay at Brian & Justin’s little cottage. Checking in and out was painless and we had everything we needed during our stay. Filtered water pitcher in the mini fridge was a nice touch!

    Collin2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! It was a cozy place and definitely enough room for 2 people. The bed was really comfortable, it had a memory foam mattress that was a delight to sleep in. The fridge was spacious enough to fit 8 water bottles, 1 jug of juice, 1 half gallon milk and leftovers. Freezer is a good size too, I fit 3 big frozen dinners and the tray of ice cubes and there was still a little room. The place is fenced off so you have your privacy with your own exit. It is neat place and not that far from bars. I used lyft and spent about $7ish to get to north park and $12ish to get to Gas lamp. Finding free parking was a breeze, I was lucky to park right in front of the place. Definitely recommend it. Brian and Justin were awesome hosts.

    Oscar2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Brian and Justin were great hosts!! They were super fast with responses and helped us out with bunches of tips on what was going on in the area, parking and check in! The cottage was adorable and so comfy! We loved it!

  • Awesome stay and accommodation with last minute booking on Christmas weekend. Best part of stay was having the options of using the fireplace or fire pit, sipping on tea while listening to vinyl on the record player. Continental breakfast available all day and a TV set up with streaming services and DVDs. Cute puppy and cat that we let roam into our side of the house.

    Tammy2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t save enough about what amazing hosts Lisa and Amanda are. The House was immaculate and their home is so inviting. The bed and bedding was super soft. They have ample parking and in a very quiet neighborhood. Walking district to coffee shops, boutiques and close to the freeway. Well trained animals that are adorable and only interact with you at your request.

    Nancy And Celeste2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. The neighborhood is great (very central and cool houses) and the hosts are very thoughtful and helpful. Would have loved to spend more time here, thank you!

  • If you’re looking for a place with great walkability to stores and restaurants in the Kensington, Normal Heights areas you’ve hit the jackpot. Cute place with comfy bed and recently remodeled bathroom at the end of a cul-de-sac in a family friendly neighborhood. Shower was awesome! Very close to major freeways and downtown San Diego as well as other attractions.

    Caren2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Private bedroom, private bathroom. You will have to share the kitchen if you need to use it but you are pretty much by yourself. Lovely area near end of cul-de-sac.

    Jeffrey2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Lisa & Amanda was awesome! Lots of privacy, if you want it, but great conversation too. Super easy going. Location is great. Only a short walk to great cafes & restaurants on Adams. Highly recommend it!

    David2018-02-27T00:00:00Z

This house has private access through the rear of the property, use of the yard, and one parking space. The queen bed is a comfortable memory foam mattress. The appliances are all new and the gas range will be ready for you to make great meals on... or if you don't feel like cooking, walk to the many restaurant options!
You will be staying a couple blocks off of Adams Ave, which leads you in to downtown Normal Heights. Here you'll find amazing coffee shops like Le Stats or Dark Horse Coffee roasters, pizza shops (Zia's pizza is our favorite), or dessert at Incredible Cheesecake Company (not the chain), a local favorite for decades.
  • Great host and great Airbnb. Loved our stay here!

    Andrea2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with plenty to do in the area, and not more than 15-20 minutes from everything San Diego has to offer. Comes with everything you could possibly need during your stay. Hosts were kind with quick responses to any questions or concerns that I had.

    Morgan2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we needed for a long weekend in SD. Loved the ease of check-in and check-out, dedicated parking spot, and indoor/outdoor living space. The bedroom area stayed cool with the ceiling fan, but the living room space could get quite stuffy in the afternoon sun if you didn't open the garage door for circulation. Would stay again!

    Merilee2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nathan’s swanky studio overly exceeded our expectations. The place was absolutely beautiful! We had no problem with the check in as he was great with communication. The studio was decorated beautifully, smelt fresh and was so clean. The neighbourhood was amazing, lively and colourful. Everything was no more then a 13 minute Uber and if you want to stay local Nathan and Kelly have wrote up their favourite local spots, we found so much fun getting to them while using the fun scooters the city has to offer. Nathan went as far as sending me a message the morning after check in wondering if we needed anything. If I could give this place more stars I would. I will be returning and as well as telling all friends and family who visit San Diego to also visit Nathan and Kelly’s cozy little studio! Would recommend to anybody.

    Amber2018-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nate and Kelly’s place was just as described. Everything was very clean and neat and the set up was very cute and modern. Everything we needed was available and we loved that we had access to Netflix and Hulu. The only downside that we were aware of already was that there was no AC (which seems to be very common in San Diego in general). After a few days we did become accustom to it and there was a good breeze with all of the windows open. The location was perfect and ideal and only about 5-20 min away from everything we wanted to do.

    Ashley2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish and convenient space! The AirBnb was newly renovated and very clean. Centrally located for those traveling to San Diego and exploring the different neighborhoods.

    Catherine2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Nathan's place. We were very impressed how the renovated the space and turned it into a fully functional and stylish living space. Its also in one of our favorite San Diego neighborhoods and was nice and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Normal Heights is a very trendy "destination neighborhood" with many bars, restaurants, and cafes. We are half a block from the heart of it. Quite simply a small studio apartment. Off street parking (not for a huge vehicle) is included with a semi private yard featuring. You have your own washer and dryer. The good sized bathroom offers a stand up shower.
Your semi private yard features a table and chairs, an orange tree, and a washer and dryer for your exclusive use. You have central heat and a ceiling fan, but no air conditioning. The shower stall isn't really small, but for you 6 feet tall and over people we have a detachable shower wand.
Normal Heights has recently become a "destination neighborhood". You will be in walking distance from a dozen bars and restaurants. Within two blocks is a Starbucks, Lestats Coffee house (live music/comedy), Ye Olde Sod Irish Bar, Blind Lady Ale House (pizza), The Rabbit Hole Bar (pub food and live music), Rosie O' Grady's bar (great Mexican food, go figure). A great micro brew beer and wine store (Bine and Vine) and a small local market are one block away. Vons and Pancho Villa super markets are a half mile away. Within a few miles are The Air Conditioned Lounge for dancing, many bars, a good number of restaurants and several local micro brewery bars. Mission Valley shopping center is seven minutes away by car. The world famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park are a five minute car ride or twenty minute bike ride away.
  • Great hosts, great location, and great value! If you're looking for simplicity, this is it! Very private courtyard of your own. This does sit right by an apartment complex, so it can be noisy at times. Hard to find places that take dogs, and especially ones that have a dog door! Altho my dog was too big for it, we still made it work perfectly! I would definitely stay here again!

    Cheyenna2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sharply clean! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Shawn. You have the whole back section to yourself in a very classy area. Shawn went out of his way to make me feel welcome. I got instant responses to any inquiry. The house is very cozy and perfect for sleep or if I needed to get computer work done. I would definitely rent here again and highly recommend Shawn's place.

    Derek2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was great having Shawn and his wife supporting us to host our son for 2 weeks during his visit to San Diego. Perfect place to stay in San Diego area. located close to shopping, restaurants & freeways. The place was clean, neat, convenient and private. Hosts are friendly & easy to contact. Thank you Shawn :-)

    Hisham2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly placed, clean, modern and very suitable. Just what we were looking for! Excelent.

    Carlos2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • There are many pluses at Shawn and Yoko's casita. Though the main room is small it has plenty of storage space. The location is wonderful. You can walk or bike to restaurants and coffeehouses etc. Also the neighborhood itself with all the houses and gardens is a nice place to wander. Shawn is very quick in getting back to you with questions or concerns. There is no TV but we were able to borrow a monitor from Shawn and connected our laptop to the monitor. The only issues were the dryer which was the internet which at times was slow. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. Also there is a very large private outdoor patio for use.

    Judith2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring San Diego! Amenities are pretty basic but we found everything we needed. Nice neighborhood with some great food. Shawn was a great host. If our travels bring us to San Diego we would definitely stay again!

    John2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn and his wife gave us a nice place to stay during our transition of moving across the country. Our stay was cut short due to us finding an apartment sooner than we expected. Shawn and Yoko were incredibly understanding and kind to the situation. The studio definitely suited our needs. The patio was our favorite feature because it allowed our little dog to hang out most of the time. The only downfall to this Airbnb would be that when I cleaned up the place for them, the vacuum did not work well. Also, even though location was absolutely AMAZING, the neighbors were actually very noisy. Kudos for our hosts for putting up with it 24/7! If they can do it, we felt like we could too haha! Other than that, it’s definitely a great spot to be at and Normal Heights is an amazing little town with tons of things to do

2-year old apartment in great condition with plenty of amenities. There is one queen bed in a separate bedroom and one queen pull-out sofa in the living room. The apartment is walking distance to tons of cool stuff including live music, great restaurants, and expansive beer bars. Friendly owner lives in a house on the same property and is an avid beer brewer/BBQ master.
Great restaurants with excellent food, delicious beer, and nice people. Everything from pizza to Vietnamese cuisine, Normal Heights has it. Blind Lady Ale House serves up specialty pizzas and dozens of beers on tap, some of which are made on site. The Rabbit Hole also offers a wide selection of beers and more of a comfort food menu. The Ould Sod, easily one of the best Irish Pubs in all of San Diego, pours the best pint of Guinness in town. 30th street, San Diego's famous craft beer alley, is only blocks away. Be sure to stop by Soda & Swine, Toronado, Ritual, Poor House Brewing, The Office, or Tiger!Tiger! In addition to food and booze, Normal Heights hosts the largest free outdoor music festival in California during the last weekend in September. Come watch our most talented musicians at every intersection along Adams Ave.
  • Great location, clean

    Tina2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Cody's place for 4 days & nights. The apartment was very clean & well maintained with a complete kitchen including everything you would need to cook with. This came in handy for our extended stay as there is a Vons grocery store about 1/2 mile away. The location is perfect with easy freeway access & only 3 miles to the zoo & less than 10 miles to the beaches. There are great restaurants too on Adams Ave all within walking distance. This apartment was a little on the smaller size for our family of 4, but very functional and worked out well.

    Dan2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Cody's place. The apt is nice and clean and exactly same as listed. It's equipped with everything(extra bed sheet, blankets, all the kitchen utensils). The location is convenient to access to the freeway. Street parking is available in front of the house. Cody is very thoughtful and helpful. Thank you, I will definitely choose here again if I come to San Diego next time.

  • Was able to come and go as we please which makes it very comfortable! Close to coffee shops and nice neighborhood to be able to go for a jog or walk if that's your thing! Very clean and he even had little extras when we arrived!

    Sarai + Malachi2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, with 20 minutes by car of everything, yet 2 walking blocks or so from restaurants, brew pubs, coffee shops, and ice cream. Cody's place is clean, well-constructed, nice amenities, with a great kitchen for cooking. The unit is above a garage separate from the main house, and so very quiet for sleeping. The bed was very comfortable, and the sofa pulls out into a double bed for the kids. Cody is very responsive as well. I would gladly stay here again on future trips.

    Derek2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cody's place was a perfect fit for us. 2 adults and 1 child. Walking distance are lots of restaurants and a 7/11 for emergency needs. Complete appliances makes it so easy to decide on the fly what we wanted to do. Eat out, laundry, cook, relax, etc. Cody himself was super accommodating. He accepted a package we ordered online on our behalf and left it in our room since he was away when we arrived. He double checked if we got in ok since we were coming in from a long haul late night flight. He recommended places to try and made himself available for whatever we might need. Highly recommended and Will definitely come back. =)

A terrific location in Normal Heights just 5 blocks to restaurants and cafes on Adams Ave. We're centrally located, close to all freeways, SD Zoo, and Balboa Park. The closest beach is about 7 or 8 miles away, which is a 15 minute drive. You'll like our comfortable, private guest house and shared garden.
Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine when you arrive. We'll help to make your stay comfortable in any way we can, whether it's telling about all that SD has to offer, or leaving you to yourself.
Normal Heights is one of San Diego's centrally located, unique neighborhoods. It's 8 miles from the ocean, near freeways and 4 miles from Balboa Park, downtown and the harbor. One of our favorite restaurants, Dao Fu, is about 8 blocks away on Adams Avenue, where there are other restaurant choices as well.
  • This was our first time trying airbnb and we loved it! Art and Don are so sweet and helpful! The house was beautiful and made for a very relaxing weekend. We also enjoyed the snacks and wine given to us! Definitely will be looking for a second trip to San Diego within the next couple of months and would love nothing more than to stay with Art and Don again!

  • Donald and Arthur went above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. They were very communicative, kind, and shared awesome recommendations. The space was lovely and the location was perfect. Highly recommend!

    Grace2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! We had great communication before we arrived. My husband and I felt like we had a little slice of paradise tucked away in Don and Arthur's backyard. There were tons of treats in the fridge, a comfy king bed, huge shower, hot tub and a hammock. The neighborhood is great - we walked up to Adams street almost every night to try another great restaurant or coffee shop. We were so close to everything. Balboa park was an easy 10 min drive and all the freeways were very accessible. We were sad to leave! Thanks for everything!

    Danielle2015-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I needed. The place was great (and the hot tub a must), the hosts were great, and the location was great. No hesitation to come back!

    Jef2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Guest House was a charming place. It was everything we had hoped for and more than was promised. Arthur and Donald went out of their way to make sure all our needs were met. We had a delightful time even though weather in San Diego was rainy for several days and limited and changed plans we had for outside activities. We used their wonderful hot tub and enjoyed the beautiful backyard. Totally pleased with out stay in their guest house.

    Diane2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This guest house exceeded our expectations! It’s roomier than the photos make it seem, and even more beautiful. The location is perfect-very close to the airport, zoo, Balboa park, downtown, beaches, and the freeways. The neighborhood was lovey and very quiet too. We weren’t able to spend a lot of time with Don and Art, but we did get to meet them and chat toward the end of our trip. They are such nice people and excellent hosts. We recommend this place to anyone going to San Diego!!

    Annie2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Consumate hosts, warm, friendly and welcoming... expressed in part with genetous treats and wine as a welcoming gift! Fantastic location- close to all the special San Diego Neighborhoods Hillcrest, North Park, University Heights... and freeways to everywhere else.

    Lempi2014-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we stayed with Art and Don, and we had another wonderful experience. They are excellent hosts, who go out of their way to make us feel at home, and the help us get the most out of our visit to San Diego. The guest house was comfortable and well maintained (and stocked with a bunch of treats). The hot tub provided for some much needed rest and relaxation during our trip. We would not hesitate to stay with Art and Don again; we look forward to our next visit!
