You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). A house that combines a traditional Japanese house with a Western-style house reminiscent of Taisho Romance and Showa Retro. The small but dignified Japanese garden, built over 100 years ago, welcomes you to the private rental inn, "Dai-mae house". This inn, "Daimae", is located in a temple complex to the east of the Takayama Basin. If you go up the stairs along the mossy stone wall from the road, you will be greeted by a protruding pine tree. When you open the lattice doors, you can see a Japanese garden on the right that seems to have been built over 100 years ago. Enter the front entrance, and enter the living room from the tatami mat hallway, from where you can see the Japanese garden. Further down the hall is a tea room, where you can sit and watch the Japanese garden, which is small but has a sense of elegance.
