“Pancho and Cecile were amazing hosts! They gave us Tipps and advices drove us to the Titou Gorge and Trafalgar Falls for a fair price and if you go there you definitely should consider a three course dinner for the evening! It was fantastic thanks a lot!! The place in the middle of the rain forest is beautiful and you can see so many stars!”
If you're looking for a quiet, neighborhood my place would be perfect for you. There is a river right next door so a nice cold clean river bath is within a minute' s walk. Transportation, breakfast/cooking and other services are available and can be arranged with guests. Environment is very safe. If guests want the entire house this option is also available upon request.
“Nathalie is an exceptional host! We were welcomed like royalty, his hospitality and his attentions go beyond all limits! Nathalie made us taste the local cuisine, and was very accommodating. Unquestionably the best host of our long vacation.”
part of Banana lama Eco Villa and Cottages. A romantic cottage in the rainforest. Our Ginger Lily Eco Cottage sleeps 2 and is set in the lush rainforest of Dominica with the pristine Cocoa Rivers steps away. The cottage is self contained with a gorgeous bathtub to soak in after a good days hike.
“Banana Lama perfectly represents the Nature Island that is Dominica. The spacious comfortable bungalows are located in a plain at the bottom of an open valley near the river but without any risk of flooding of the bungalows. We are surrounded by well-wooded mountains (tropical rain forest) despite the passage of Cyclone Maria in 2017. Access is by walking a little (20 minutes max) by crossing two rivers on foot or by zip lines which adds a fun touch to the stay of the most soothing and rejuvenating! We did it with our 11 month old baby who loved the zipline! (mandatory baby carrier) Andy is very attentive and accompanies us for the use of zip lines at the beginning. It is better to equip yourself with headlamps for returns at dusk or in the evening There are two pools within 5 minutes of the bungalows which invite you to take a very invigorating swim! Naturalists will easily be able to observe endemic reptiles (anole,, ameives, skinks) and birds, especially small buzzards On the other hand, I did not see during my stay of 6 days troglodytes or snakes yet quite common on the island. Banana Lama is also a very good table! Mélissa cooks very well and offers a variety of dishes (breakfast, lunch, dinners). Banana Lama is well located for exploring central and southern Dominica not far from Rosalie on the coast and broken bridge at the central crossroads from which you have fairly quick access to waterfalls and trails We are 35-40 minutes from Roseau, 1 hr-1 hr 15 mins from Laudat and 45 from the airport on beautiful, although winding, roads. We were delighted with our stay at Banana Lama and will be back !!”
