Family-friendly vacation rentals in Groton

There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to have a decent shower while you are on vacation. That was absolutely not the case here. The hot water and water pressure in both bathrooms was exceptional. This is a great place in a great area. We will definitely try to get back here.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you are visiting UConn or the surrounding area. Keri and Jason were fabulous hosts and very responsive to my needs. Keri even anticipated needs by offering to have a fresh cup of coffee ready for me on the AM. Everything was perfect for my stay and there was definitely a comfortable feel. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

The place was amazing. I absolutely plan on bringing my family again, hopefully this year. The host was excellent. He was there when we arrived, gave us a quick tour and some easy instructions on how to use items. We loved the lake, and the house came with everything we needed to enjoy our time

My wife and I were looking for a nice quiet and peaceful spot near Mohegan, and this was by and far the best space to be in for a short holiday. Very relaxing and full of light. Loved!

Sort of magical old house, dripping with character and quirks. Great stove and grill and a big dining room Gori Cooking and gathering. Super nice hosts. Nice walk to a nice park nearby. We really enjoyed being there. If you have a reason to be in Norwich, this is a cool place!

Location , location, location. Beautiful lake view from almost every window. Wonderful hot tub on the lake!!! Seriously so close to everything. The cabin had everything we needed plus!!! Easy access, quiet area. Come to relax and enjoy time as a couple or family here!

My husband and I stayed with our 19-month-old son for three nights and it was a perfect choice! Susan had a toys and books that he loved, as well as a sandbox and pool outside - and the home was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We used the location as a jumping off point for other activities and then had quiet afternoons at the house while my husband rode his bike (we saw lots of other cyclists!). If you are vegan or vegetarian, check out the Shoreline Diner in Guilford - it was delicious.

We can’t say enough about how grateful we are for Linda’s hospitality. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home. She’s a warm and gracious host who genuinely cares about her guests—and it shows in every thoughtful detail. Our dog absolutely loved exploring the beautiful grounds, and we loved waking up to the view of the pond and fresh coffee. It also happened to be my birthday during our stay, and Linda surprised us with birthday treats—such a kind and memorable gesture! She truly goes above and beyond. Her home is perfectly located near Watch Hill and everything Westerly has to offer.

This was a fabulous destination! We were looking for a big place to have a special anniversary party weekend with extended family, and this house had everything we needed. Plenty of bedrooms upstairs and first floor, many common gathering areas, large kitchen and dining room tables, and lots of Space. (And this doesn't even include the explorable property outside.) The dozens of photos in the listing were very helpful, as well as the detailed descriptions. We had specific needs for elderly relatives with disabilities, and owner Lynne was so responsive in her replies to my many messages with varied questions. Truly, Lynne, you deserve a gold star from Airbnb for promptness and offering up ways and help that made our stay both easier and fulfilling.

Great Gull property is amazing! We loved staying at this seaside inspired home. The thoughtful design reflected the area, and the location was amazing—5 minutes away from the aquarium, walkable to restaurants, and near historic downtown too. We loved the lake just steps away from the house, and were pleasantly surprised that they provided kayaks and bikes too! We also didn’t realize there was a little cottage in the back with bunks and a bathroom—my kids loved staying in here! This was a fun treat. Everything about the house was so comfortable and well stocked and furnished. Thank you for being a great host!

" Live is but an azure moment" and the Azure Cottage provided just that! We loved the proximity of the house to the beach. The sound of the waves was meditative and restorative.The space offers a truly beautiful vista with a distant view of Block Island. The beach itself is perfect and great for walking and taking walks with dogs. Sunrises were lovely--a great way to greet the day. We are "foodies" and appreciated a well appointed kitchen, including a kettle for the tea lovers. The space is open and comfortable. Charlestown Beachway is lovely; off the beaten path but accessible to many fun things to do--like the Trolls at Ninigret and the Fantastic Umbrella Factory plus great places to eat. One caution: Renters need to be accustomed to stairs. The exterior stairs were much easier to use than the interior ones.

Cabin on Little River met our expectations and more. Myself, 2 sisters and my daughter wanted a quiet getaway. A charming open concept post and beam, pine floors and wood trim, woodstove for winter, deck with charcoal grill. It's very rural and IN the woods ( so bring bug repellant). Even though the host's home is visible you still feel tucked away. Kitchen and bath are modern and clean and the beds and livingroom were very comfortable. The soothing sound of the river is always present. It was relaxing to sit down in the adirondack chairs near its bank. The woods provide a place to walk. Lake is across the road. Glenn informed us of several events nearby that we were really interested in...but we never felt like leaving the cabin! There's a big firepit nearby and wood provided. Glenn is a wonderful host. A fellow artist, I asked to see his studio on the ground level. Even bought a couple small paintings. Do not hesitate to book this place if you are looking for a quiet respite!

We had a wonderful stay at George’s. The unit is exactly as described, don’t be deterred by the adherence to the house, it’s completely private. It’s at a great location for north fork explorations and the amount of towels was outstanding!

I will book again and again. The comfort of the bed and shower was fantastic. The appliances were updated and I will recommend this little piece of solitude Heaven. It’s like a wee nature refuge and Perfect location. The hosts were attentive and kind. A million thanks!

This home was clean and beautiful. Beds are super comfortable kitchen is fully stocked. The list of recommendations on what to do locally was also super helpful Our favorite part was the game room. We did karaoke with the kids hands loads of fun playing pool against my husband the outdoor space was also huge. I can’t wait to book this home again as my son calls it a 2nd home

I stayed at Ashley and Mike's apartment for a week while traveling with my dog and horse. We enjoyed coming home after a long day at our clinic 10 minutes away to a quiet, safe place to make dinner, get cleaned up and chill out. It was a clean, safe and cozy place to be and would definitely come stay again when we have another opportunity! Thanks for the amazing space! Laura and Teak!

This was our first time at the Barn. There were 8 of us. We had plenty of room. Plenty of parking. MaryBeth and Doug are extremely friendly. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the Barn. Will definitely book there again next year.

We enjoyed the coziness of the pool house during our Thanksgiving stay. The location was close to our family and friends. It was private and quiet. Alice responded promptly to our questions. We would like to return when the weather is warmer to take advantage of the pool and the outside surroundings. The Goulds

We had a lovely stay at Eric's home. The home exceeded our expectations and we felt right at home. The decor was warm and inviting. Everything you could possibly need was in the stunning, modern kitchen. The beds were all comfortable and we slept very well. The property was very peaceful. We enjoyed seeing deer, turkeys and hawks each day. The fixtures in the home were modern, clean and high-end. It was great being so close to Greenport with it's wonderful restaurants and shops. We can't wait to return.

The location was great and a nice place to walk. Lots of stuff to see and do that’s not far away. We would come again.
