“Our stay at Sherika’s villa was outstanding. It is of a high standard - nicely furnished and equipped with all modern appliances and conveniences. We were able to experience island life in a way you simply cannot in a hotel, and have a truly relaxed holiday. Built by her family, it is adjacent to a small cluster of four villas set back from the road, directly on a lovely small beach - which we had to ourselves for the duration of the trip. The house has a nice veranda facing the sea and a propane BBQ for grilling. It was wonderful to wake up to the sea outside our window every morning. She supplies kayaks, floaties, snorkel gear and beach loungers. There’s a boat slip, and you can even rent your own boat to explore. Occasionally people come and go from the mooring - all exceedingly friendly. There’s also a nice walk from the house along the beach, by an aquarium with lobster, grouper and tropical fish, with a hike up to an historic settlement on Crab Cay. We did not rent a car - waited too late and they were all gone - but, it didn’t matter much. We walked into town on the first day to go to Exuma market, and the shop called a taxi home for us with our groceries. It was easy to call a taxi to Georgetown or other spots, and although we missed seeing Little Exuma and Tropic of Cancer beach, we got to see much of the island by booking a tour with Exuma Water Sports - the van pick up was a drive from Georgetown up to Barretarre, where the tour departed from. Not having a car allowed us to enjoy “villa life” on our private beach...hanging out in the gorgeous, calm water and we were the only people in sea. Incredible! The Exuma Water Sports experience was really super, we did the 1/2 day afternoon trip and booked online - swam with and fed pigs, petted sting rays, snorkeled at a few spots including a blue hole, visited remote islands with stunning beaches, and saw/feed the iguanas. We also lunched at Rusty Anchor at February Point - beautiful spot, had a drink at Choppy’s on the water, visited the straw market and hung out at the fish fry. We spent evenings in cooking dinner and watching Netflix - this is really not a “nightlife” island in our experience - even NYE was quiet. So, Sherika’s place is a comfortable and wonderful place to hang out and get your relax on. We loved it. Five stars!”
Secluded home located on the water of the south side of Great Exuma, between George Town and Rolle Town, on the beautiful bone fishing flats.
“Our family of 5 stayed the first week in January 2020 and had a wonderful time. We followed tips from Savanna and other reviews here and went to Chat and Chill Sunday (despite reading bad yelp reviews we had an excellent experience that shouldn’t be missed). We ventured to Tropic of Cancer beach and Tropic Breeze for dinner Monday, Tuesday we went to Hoopers Bay to see turtles (please don’t feed or touch!) and back again Friday because we loved! The turtles are best seen between piers. Wednesday we booked a coastline adventures tour to see swimming pigs, thunder ball grotto, iguanas and swim with sharks. It was expensive for 5 of us but completely worthwhile! We got groceries at Exuma Markets, Shop Rite and Prime Island Meats - all easy to find. Liquor at Smitty’s. Most dinners are buffet style with standard offerings. We had dinner at Rusty Anchor our last night ($300/5 of us) on the pricey side but a real treat beautiful and delicious. Savanna is incredibly responsive- we woke up to no water Monday of our trip and within 15 minutes someone was at door to fix it. Great with directions and suggestions. Beautiful very clean and comfortable home.”
As featured in HGTV's Bahamas Life, Twilight Vista has a view that is simply amazing! At low tide you can walk to the sand bar, have a private picnic, or just relax with a float just steps from the house. Enjoy sunrise and sunset without ever leaving. The home is very comfortable. A perfect getaway, Twilight Vista is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (w/ kids). Rent kayaks, paddle boards or boats and cruise around the many islands. Shops and restaurants are also close by.
“Tropical Dreams is a beautiful place! Just what a couple of New Yorkers and Californians needed to escape reality for a little bit. The deck was amazing. We grilled the last 2 nights we were there. To my surprise, there was little if any mosquitos out. I don’t know if it’s the season or what but we really lucked out. If you open the windows and the door you can feel the ocean breeze come thru. The only thing that I think is effort was getting there. The roads are a little rough and at night in the dark when we first got there we didn’t know where we were being taken. But once you get there, amazing. It was highly recommended to rent a car but us 4 adults wanted to drink and relax so opted out of that option. We ended up meeting Clayvon, one of the nicest taxi guys on the island! We would just set up times with him and he would be there bright and early!! (Let me know if you need his number 😉)”
