The space
Welcome to Cooper’s Landing, a spacious waterfront cottage on beautiful Kashagawigamog Lake, just 4 km from the town of Haliburton.
With multiple living spaces, three full bathrooms, a large games room, screened-in porch and an expansive lakefront lawn, there is plenty of room for families and groups to spread out while still enjoying time together.
One of the best parts of Cooper’s Landing is its west-facing setting on Kashagawigamog Lake, making evenings here all about beautiful sunsets over the water. Spend your days swimming, paddling, fishing and exploring the lake, then gather around the large firepit as the sun goes down.
Kashagawigamog is the largest lake on Haliburton’s connected five-lake chain, giving you access to Head, Grass, Soyers and Canning Lakes. The chain offers approximately 68 km of shoreline to explore, and you can even boat directly into the town of Haliburton, tie up at the town docks and head out for lunch, shopping or a walk through town.
The Space
On the main level, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for meals during your stay.
The main dining area features a large eight-person dining table, while a separate four-person breakfast nook beside the coffee area gives you another casual place to sit, eat or play a game.
Just off the dining area is the main-floor deck, complete with a BBQ and outdoor dining table—perfect for summer meals and relaxed evenings outside.
The main lounge is bright and comfortable, with a wood-burning fireplace and large windows facing the lake. It’s an inviting space to settle in, enjoy the view or warm up by the fire on cooler days.
A few steps up on the upper level, you’ll find two bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a king bed, while the second bedroom has a queen bed. Also on this level is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination, toilet and double vanity, along with a separate laundry area with a washer and dryer available for guest use.
Lower Level
Head downstairs and you’ll find a second lounge with plenty of seating, a large TV and gas fireplace, giving your group another comfortable place to relax, watch a movie or unwind after a day outside. A full three-piece bathroom with a walk-in shower is located just off the lounge.
From here, walk directly into the large screened-in porch, a great spot to enjoy the fresh air while staying sheltered from the weather.
Step straight out from the screened porch onto the large lakefront lawn, with plenty of open space to relax, play and enjoy the outdoors. The lawn leads directly toward the waterfront and a large firepit overlooking the lake. It’s an ideal place to spend the evening together, roast marshmallows and watch the sunset, with the water just steps away.
With the screened porch, lawn, firepit and lake all connected, the lower level makes it easy to move between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day.
Also on this level is a two-bedroom suite-style sleeping area. The first bedroom features a twin-over-double bunk bed, while the adjoining second bedroom has a queen bed and is accessed directly through the first bedroom.
Games Room
The large games room gives everyone another place to gather and have some fun.
Enjoy a game of ping pong, darts or bubble hockey, watch TV, or pull up a stool at the bar. A bar fridge is also available for keeping drinks and snacks close by.
The games room includes a queen bed for additional sleeping space and its own full three-piece bathroom with a walk-in shower, making it a useful and flexible space for larger groups.

When the weather is warm, much of your stay can be spent right on the water.

The waterfront offers options for different swimmers, with a gradual water entry from shore, with some rocks along the entry, as well as deep swimming from the dock.
Kashagawigamog Lake and the surrounding five-lake chain offer excellent fishing, with species including walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, muskie, lake trout and yellow perch found throughout the lake system.
Bring your own boat, head out in one of the kayaks or paddleboards, or spend the day exploring the connected waterways. If you don’t have a boat, there is also a boat rental location on nearby Grass Lake, the next lake over on the connected chain, giving you another easy way to get out and explore.
One of the unique advantages of staying at Cooper’s Landing is being able to boat right into downtown Haliburton. Tie up at the public docks and head into town for lunch, shopping, ice cream or a walk along the waterfront before boating back to the cottage.

Travel to, from, and while at the cottage is at the guest’s own risk. During the winter months, road conditions in the Haliburton Highlands can be challenging, and all-wheel drive or 4x4 vehicles are mandatory for safe access.
Please be aware that driveways, decks, steps, and pathways may become slippery or snow-covered. Guests are expected to use caution at all times.
While snow removal is maintained as best as possible, the property owner and its representatives are not responsible for slips, falls, injuries, or accidents (including those resulting in death) related to winter travel or conditions.
That said, the cottage offers a truly magical winter experience — from cozy nights indoors to snow-covered trails and frozen lake adventures. With proper preparation, you’ll be able to enjoy all the beauty and activities the season has to offer.
To help you enjoy your winter getaway safely and comfortably, we recommend bringing:
• 🚙 AWD or 4x4 vehicle for navigating snowy/icy roads.
• 👢 Winter boots with good grip for outdoor areas.
• 🧣 Warm layers & outdoor gear for exploring.
• 🔦 Flashlights or headlamps (days are shorter in winter).
• 🥫 Extra food & essentials in case of heavy snowfall.
• 🪵 Firewood if you’d like to use the outdoor firepit.
Guest access
You’ll have full access to the house, yard, and all outdoor amenities. No access to one locked storage room or the inside of the garage. You will have access to the laundry room, however the storage cabinets are locked. Please do not try to pry open.
Other things to note
Our space is located in the woods, and we maintain the exterior for pests including insects and mice, this is a reality of being surrounded by beautiful mother nature. Animals you may see during your stay include wild deer(famous in Haliburton), foxes, wild turkeys, moose (must be lucky!), black bears (very rare), groundhogs, squirrels, a variety of fish and birds, mice, and insects.
The cottage does not have a generator. In the very rare event of a power outage, please come prepared and have fun and enjoy the outdoors. Most outages in the area are resolved quickly, and during the winter months, you can of course use the wood or gas fireplace to keep the home warm until power is restored.
The air conditioning in the home is located as a unit on the kitchen/living room space. Please note the bedrooms don't have any specifics.
In the winter, the private road is plowed by a local contractor. We highly recommend winter tires and a 4x4 vehicle for safe travel (there is one medium sized hill that may be challenging in the winter, the rest is fairly flat). Please come prepared. We also provide shovels and salt for winter use. Please note that we are unable to offer refunds due to weather, power outages or vehicle preparedness.
Please list all guests when booking, including adults & children. We will cancel your booking should you be over occupancy. We do not allow day visitors. We have a licence, and we have to be fair to us & our neighbours.

The rules regarding the pet would be as follows:
◇ No wet pets in the house. They need to be thoroughly dried before entering.
◇ Paws must be cleaned/wiped before entering the house.
◇ No pets allowed on any of the furniture at any time.
◇ Pets must be crated if left alone
◇ Any messes or damage must be reported immediately.
◇ An additional $30 cleaning fee will automatically apply.
◇ Pets must sleep on a pet specific bed so as to not leave any stains or smells, and we ask that any shedding breeds be cleaned up after by the owner during their stay. Please bring any blankets to protect any surfaces.
When you head out to canoe or kayak if you paddle to the right it will take you to Grass Lake, and eventually into town on Head Lake. Other points of interest include a beautiful scenic paddle up the mouth of the river leading into Barnum Lake. See Google maps. Please pull the Lilly Pad out of the water in the evening to avoid spoiling the mat. Kindly put the water toys and anything else you've used back where you found it. Canoe and kayaks to be placed face down on the rack in case it rains! It will damage the water toys if not properly put away. Our cleaner cannot lift water toys on her own, so please put away before checking out. Guests are required to wear appropriate life jackets at all times while on the lake in any vessel.

Kitchen: Coffee (drip coffee maker), French Press, Tea, Sugar, Oil, Salt & Pepper, a variety of spices, Lighters, Fire Starters, 1 paper towel rolls, dish cloths, all purpose cleaner, sponge, dish soap.
Bathroom: Toilet Paper (6 rolls per bathroom), 1 bath towel per person, Hand towels, 1 bath mat. Some shampoo & body wash.
*Beach Towels not provided, should you need, please bring your own!
Bedrooms: Pillows, Sheets & Duvet. Additional blankets, if you get cold, are recommended. We do have some blankets around the living spaces to cuddle. If you take any outside to the bonfire space please wash them.
Outdoor Amenities: 1 Canoe, 2 Kayaks, 2 Stand Up Paddle Boards, 1 Lilly Pad. Inflatables vary per season. We provide a mix of adult and children life jackets. Please bring your own in you need specific ones. Sleds and snowshoes are seasonal and usually available until mid-March, depending on weather conditions.
*We will not be responsible for improper life jacket usage or equipment failure.
Other: Laundry soap
Garbage: All garbage and recycling must be taken to the Haliburton Landfill (8 minutes away) and cannot be left behind. There is no cost for normal garbage disposal. Please use the deck box on the front porch for overflow garbage temporary storage. We provide garbage bags.
For your safety and security, there is an outdoor camera located on the balcony facing the backyard/lake area. This camera is used for monitoring the exterior only. There are no cameras inside the home.
