“Perfect place for couples looking to get away for relaxation and to explore the surrounding area! The place was so cosy and had everything we needed. The bed is so comfortable and the bath was very indulgent, great shower too! It is such a good base of you’re looking to explore the area and if not you have everything you need in the house for a lazy long weekend. James & Helena are great and helpful, they live next door but the place feels very much your own and private. Hopefully we will be back again soon!”
Wile away the hours amid acres of ancient woodland, soaking up the magnificent views of the Exe Estuary. Exeter Lodge's location will appeal to everyone, sitting just outside the historic city of Exeter. Perfect for unwinding.
“We chose Exeter Lodge for a number of reasons but were amazed actually at exactly how lovely it was. It was bigger than I think the photos suggested with a beautiful feel, excellent facilities and wonderful fixtures and fittings . We did not use the hot tub but in warmer months I can imagine it’s fabulous as the views are breathtaking. We are Super Hosts for Airbnb also and know how difficult it is to maintain a 5* rating with guests expecting so much these days. Everything about Nicky’s place deserves a 5* rating. Nicky was wonderful and when I mentioned the WiFi wasn’t working (after a storm) she came straight over and fixed it immediately. The master bedroom was fabulous with a super king bed (something we always look for) & a huge TV on the wall. The bathroom has a huge free standing bath which was great to come home to after a near freezing day out. Similarly the log burner in the dining room was perfect and we lit that (we did buy kindling etc at the local garage as were unable to successfully light it without) and sat in front of it drinking wine, eating bread & cheese and playing cards for a perfect evening in. Yes, as some people have mentioned it initially feels like a long way up a narrow country lane but this is part of the charm of it. Don’t let that put you off. Every time you drive it it seems shorter and the views and the lodge itself it so very worth it! If you book Exeter Lodge I cannot imagine you’d be anything other than delighted that you did!”
