A cozy, spacious room, you have to climb the stairs. It is upstairs in a characteristic farmhouse in a beautiful walking and cycling area. The bathroom and separate toilet are for the guest rooms, if the other rooms are not rented, so private. An electrically adjustable bed, where you can read, or watch TV with your legs up. A nice room, nice mattresses and darkening for rest after an active day. You must be agile.
“Aagje is a wonderful hostess. Sarah and I felt that we were visiting family. Too bad we only stayed one night. She has plenty of time for questions and had a delicious Dutch breakfast for us in the morning. Aagje is just the perfect host. We really had the feeling we were visiting family. Too bad we only stayed one night. We had a great time discussing all kind of subjects. She made us a great, very Dutch breakfast. Perfect stay!”

“A log cabin with exactly everything you need to unlock your daily hectic life. A place where you do nothing with love without getting bored. Everything is right, not least the hospitality. Take two steps outside the door and you are on the beautiful Fochteloöerveen. Chance that, like us, you can spot egrets and cranes. If you want to eat or a cup of coffee (take with whipped cream, served festively) or a beer, Stationsplein 2 in Oosterwolde is a must with the best manageress.”
The room has a double bed (Auping) with 2 separate mattresses. It is possible to add a single bed or cot. There is also a high chair available. There is a coffee maker and kettle and possibly a microwave.
“Makkinga is one of those charming Frisian villages that give the impression that social and cultural life is very important. There is already a lot to discover and enjoy on the spot, and Groningen with its outstanding museum is only half an hour away. The sea is also close enough for a trip. But the large and tastefully decorated guest room also invites you to a home-day that can be easy at times. For pleasure, the stay will be more than ever with such an attentive and warm hostess as Piety. Particularly noteworthy is the breakfast, which leaves nothing to be desired and on the last day holds a surprise. The short trip to the Veenstras was a direct hit, everything was fine and helped us to recover, as if we had enjoyed weeks of holidays. Maybe it was the attention to detail that will bring us back in any case. Thank you Piety and family!”
