Tatsuta was once a place where people passed through along the road from Kumamoto Castle to Otsu and Aso. Near our inn is the Tatsuta Aso Sangū Shrine, founded in 1332. In the Edo period, it was moved to its current location as a shrine to protect the safety of people traveling along the highway, and its history still remains in its quiet precincts. We recommend it for a morning walk or a visit before heading out to Aso. If you go up a little higher, you'll find Tatsuta Onodatejo Park. It is a small local lookout spot with views of the city of Kumamoto and the surrounding mountains. We also recommend visiting at dusk, when the lights come on in the city. The convenience during your stay is also one of STAY TATSUDA's charms. Supermarkets, convenience stores, and bus stops are all about a 3-minute walk away. We have two easy-to-park free parking spaces right in front of the front door.
