Sleeps 11 in a 5 bedroom cottage found in the heart of rural Devon. A Grade II listed thatch cottage that rambles over 3 floors with its own private garden, is still full of its original historical features offering a cosy, light yet spacious feel that is perfect for groups and family gatherings.
“We have just returned from Sarah's beautiful and cosy cottage after a really lovely holiday away. The cottage was completely perfect for the 12 of us, made up of 3 families. 3 beautiful double bedrooms for the adults, a twin for 2 girls and the triple room for the boys. There is a very helpful extra mattress, so all 4 boys could stay together. The kitchen was fantastic and my keen cook of a husband, managed to cook a full roast dinner in there and pizzas on another evening, with loads of room around the dining table for everybody. The living space is also lovely, with rooms for both an adult group and child group to have space together but conveniently apart. The village itself is lovely. A fantastic community shop that we used daily and a really friendly and close pub. We were there for Halloween and had a lovely evening trick or treating with the locals! As a host, Sarah was friendly and helpful with communication being very easy. Overall, we all adored this cottage and I'm pretty sure that we will book again. Thanks Sarah xxxxxxx”
The Barn at Port Farm is a unique and generous studio space. Originally a threshing barn, but recently converted by the owners into a modern space which respectfully retains the character and proportions of the original barn. The eclectic mix of quirky, vintage objects and art give the Barn its unique character. A perfect hideaway for couples looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
“Excellent location, just a few minutes outside Bideford yet feeling quiet and peaceful, as though we were miles from civilisation. The barn is just as described and shown in the photographs. It has a comfortable, cosy feel to it as soon as you walk through the door. Lucy was there to greet us, showed us round and explained how the wood burner worked. There plenty of logs and firelighters. Super comfy bed and sofas with throws, a very well equipped kitchen with large cupboard space, large garden and field for our dog to stretch her legs - it was all pretty perfect!”
Welcome to The Den, tucked away in the privacy of our garden - Offering living/sleeping space and ensuite shower room. With unique original features it includes a double bed, relaxed seating area, and kitchenette area with kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave and essentials. Although small and compact The Den offers high quality accommodation with a crisp and clean minimalist feel.
“I chose The Den because on screen it ticked all the boxes for what I was seeking: rural; private, come/go/stay as I want, homely, value for money. When I arrived, I wasn't disappointed and I soon felt at home. The Den is in its own little space but Shant's and her neighbours' houses are close by if needed, so great if you're travelling solo. The Den is what you see in the pictures: basic equipment provided; clean, simple, contemporary decor (love the wooden towel pegs); access to garden furniture including a barbeque. It was raining and blowing a hooly most of the time I stayed so I didn't get to use these. It's a great place for environment-conscious people: recycling, composting and conscious water use. If you're a stargazer, The Den is a fab place to stay. I got a glimpse of the clear star-studded sky on my last night just before another storm blew in. I stayed alone and was very comfortable in the space; it would be ok for a cosy couple. Hatherleigh is cute. Check out the Pyle auctions just for the auctioneer's banter if not to bid.”
