HOUSEHOLD is a seaside inn devoted to the pleasure of cooking. Of course there are many restaurants and hotels in Himi where you can eat professional cuisine, but our hope is that you can experience preparing local style foods from fresh ingredients
“HOUSEHOLD is pretty much unlike any other AirBNB experience I’ve ever had - and I mean that in the best possible way. From the delightful design and amenity touches to the thoughtful hospitality that was just rich with culture and community to the wonderful local recommendations and maps, I could not possibly sing the praises of HOUSEHOLD enough. Many people wondered why we were going to stop in Himi during our adventure across Honshu - and now, if I were asked again, I would simply say, “Because staying at HOUSEHOLD with Shinya and Natsumi is simply wonderful and worth the trip alone.” Plan a trip to Japan, and stop in Himi to stay at HOUSEHOLD. You will not regret it one bit!”
3 minutes walk from Toyama and Himi fishing ports. An old private house in fisherman town. The manga road with the Fujiko Fujio A Art Collection and statues of Ninja Hattori-kun characters is also nearby. It is close to sightseeing and near the Himi-oki cruising platform. Himi Banya Street and Himi Onsenkyo Soyu offer a space where you can relax after a footbath or after watching the Tateyama Mountain Range at Himinoe Park on Lawn Square, or while strolling. Why don't you watch the lively morning auctions as it is close to the Himi fishing port? Himi fishing port boasts the best landing in Toyama Bay. Just because it is called a natural fish cage, it is one of the best fishing grounds in Japan, and many types of fish are caught throughout the seasons. Toyama fish is not only fresh, but also characterized by being tight but soft. Crab and cold yellowtail are caught, rock oysters, flounders and red snappers are caught all year round. You can see the morning auction of such a fishing port from the second floor terrace. The fish market cafeteria on the second floor in the Himi fishing port where you can eat a set meal using freshly caught fresh seafood is also nearby. In addition, there are various restaurants such as sushi restaurant Kiyosui, seafood bowl Yamaki, and izakaya Ajizo which is said to be the best in Himi, so please use it.
“Himi is a small, humble seaside town; it offers a great view of the sea and seafood. Two nights should be plenty of time to get to know it in my experience. You definitely won't encounter many other tourists around. Kunio and his wife were very accommodating hosts; my timing was probably coincidental but they were rather flexible with checkin time and were prompt at communicating. My Japanese is subpar but they do happen to know a little English and we were able to communicate all the important stuff. Japanese knowledge will certainly help you alot though here as well as around Himi. There are similar looking houses to theirs around however, so make sure you are at the right one. To date, Kunio and his family were the only hosts on this trip to really talk at great lengths with me, which really made it a great experience. He also was a great help with laundry and other accommodations; I'm glad I reserved it and if I ever wanted need to be around the Hokuriku region again I would definitely book again.”

“Such a great accommodation! The location is close to so many things: Kenroku-en, Oyama Shrine, restaurants and only about a 15 walk to Kanazawa station! Easy to find (really important!) with the big Emblem sign at the top of the building. Everything is clean, beautiful and had a very comfortable feel to it. The rooms with the bunk-beds give a chance to really connect with your fellow bunk mates -- which I got the pleasure to do! The lounge area is a great space to meet fellow guests and talk with the staff. They have a bar open later in the night and even host events! The morning breakfast is delicious with lots of choice, too! The staff is so nice and accommodating. They are talkative and actively engage in conversation -- this is such an important thing! As it helps us travellers feel welcome and get a really good feel of the area we are staying in and visiting. Nozomi at the reception was so friendly, helpful and talkative. She really brought the experience beyond even higher than my expectations -- Thank you so much for that! I definitely recommend Emblem. They also have wonderful tote bags for only 1,000 yen! Thank you!”
