The cottage is roomy, warm and comfortable. Oh, I forgot to say charming as well. Guests can enjoy all amenities, relax on the deck, walk around the farm and we're on site to help with any information required.
“So here you are on a protea farm in the far north. And the cottage is cosy, the wood burner on, the deck expansive and when the sun shines on you, and even if it doesn’t, who would think you weren’t in a slice of heaven? We weren’t stressed when we arrived but after a weeks relaxing we were almost catatonic. Yes the birds will sing. Yes the hounds will slurp you, especially Scout. If you let them, as they are so well behaved if you don’t want their company they will respect that. And the hosts Polly and Geoffrey were so fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, sociable and kind. What’s not to like? If you don’t stay here when you visit the Northlands you’d miss out on an experience to savour. Visit Henderson Bay. Rarawa Beach. Spirit Bay. Cape Reinga. And kick back at the farm. Relax. Throw another log on the woodburner. Use the BBQ and watch a dvd. Clean, cosy, comfortable, comforting, convivial. Can’t recommend it more highly. Spoil yourself.”
Modern, cosy cottage with surronding wrap around decks that enable you to sit in comfort, and enjoy the harbour and rural views, no matter what they weather is. Lie in the Super King Bed, ( or 2 singles if preferred) enjoying peace and quiet with the ranch slider open, listening to sounds of nature, feeling safe and secure planning your day. Relax
“Awesome cottage for a relaxing retreat. The location was great for everything we had planned and Jenny the host was exceptional. Conversation and communication was a pleasure and Jenny would go out of her way to help any way she could. I'd be staying here everytime I go to the far north of New Zealand.”
Cute 1brm cottage - newly refurbished (end of Sept) located in Pukenui township. Fully self contained with kitchen, bathroom, toilet & laundry. Queen bed in the bedroom & long single bed in a nook off the lounge. Plenty of parking & room for the boat. BBQ available. Walking distance to the local shops, wharf, fishing club & café. Just a 50 minute drive to Cape Reinga & 10 mins out to the famous 90 Mile Beach. Houhora is surrounded by lots of fabulous NZ beaches.
“Tidy and cozy place, pretty private despite being close to the main house. Warm, even though we’d been there in a rainy winter day. Spacious enough for a family of 3. No wi-fi, but TV is ok (mobile coverage is a bit wobbly just FIY). A great cafe for a dinner is just a couple of minutes walk away.”
