“The stay at Carolyn’s place was so comfortable and fun! The shipping container turns into a cozy, clean and extremely comfortable cabin. Great kitchen area and large bathroom and a separate bedroom! Shower was great, hot water was fast, insulation was fab so rooms were easily made warm or cool with window units! (Rainstorm was very quiet despite being in a steel container.)Very comfortable bed along with entire cabin with magnolia-esque decor. There are plenty of snacks, condiments, coffee and fresh eggs along with good quality pans/dish ware. The outside areas are a plus to take in the great views of the sky, farm animals and at night to sit around a fire. Carolyn has absolutely covered all the details in making her guests very comfortable. An added bonus was the close proximity to the Wichita Mountains Refuge.”
Just opened last Summer, The Silver Spur Cabin celebrates the Wild West Era. According to legend, many notorious outlaws passed through our area. Belle Starr and Jesse James were said to have used the area to hide treasure and evade the law. Rumor is the hidden treasure from these bands of outlaws is still waiting to be discovered. The Lazy Buffalo has 5 individually themed cabins. The Silver Spur Cabin is the 2nd door from the left when looking at The Lazy Buffalo and under the white roof.
“Loved the Lazy Buffalo! The decor is very cute and the cabin has everything you need. I enjoyed waking up each morning and sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee. The mountains are just off in the distance making for a really nice view and a short drive down the road takes you right into the Wildlife Refuge. I’ve been telling all my friends about this place and may even plan a work retreat here. Great job, Larry and Julie. Thanks for creating a cozy little home for people away from home.”
