Spacious, comfy and well equipped house 5 min walk to Chesil Beach. Everything you would expect inc free superfast wi-fi, well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and a cosy log burner in living room. Scandi style décor with a luxe feel. Situated on the Jurassic Coast, close to local amenities, the whole of this tiny island is a haven for walkers, climbers, sailors and birdwatchers, together with a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants.
“We had a lovely stay this week at rosa cottage. The house but particularly the sitting room is absolutely lovely. So cosy. Lovely bedroom, bathroom and dining area. The only criticism I have is that there needs to be potentially more tea towels, and things like dish cloths. A few more logs for the fire would be great as we couldn’t buy them anywhere so ran out quickly. Also I would suggest taking down the notes on the walls saying “if you break this blind you will be charged £20”. I do think people know they will be charged if they break something. But all in all a lovely lovely place to stay and Karin was really helpful. We used the Indian takeaway she recommended and it was delicious.”
This historic home features original stone floors, rustic wood beam ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, modern finishes, a sauna, and a private back patio overlooking the beach. Breathe in the refreshing ocean air from this hillside retreat. I’m sorry I have a no pets policy at the cottage.
“We spent a week here with the aim of relaxing and Jackie’s place certainly allowed us to do this. Lovely decor, cozy cottage, the bathtub and infrared were amazing bonuses. We cooked meals easily in the kitchen and enjoyed the small touches like candles and fireplace. Nice, quiet street and you can hear the ocean at night. Great, relaxing stay!”
Welcome to our lovely, warm family holiday home. Our coastal cottage looks small from the outside but can accommodate up to eight guests and is fantastic for getaways with family or friends. With some sea views and close to the south west coastal path, the cottage is a great place to explore Portland and the surrounding area. Being a 10 minute walk from Portland Marina and Chesil Beach, it’s the perfect spot to indulge in Sailing, Bird Watching, Diving, Kayaking and other outdoor activities.
“Ann & Kay's place really is a home-from-home. Check-in is super easy with the lock box, and being able to park on the driveway is a real benefit! We were provided with a welcome pack which was so generous, and really got us off to a great start. It was lovely to be able to make a 'cuppa' & have a slice of cake when we arrived after a few hours in the car. I don't pack light, but that's not an issue because there is so much storage space (both for hanging & in drawers). Everything was spotlessly clean, and the provision of toiletries was fantastic. (The bubble bath really was a treat for after a long day of walking). The living room & cinema room are both super-cosy for an evening in, but there are places to grab a drink & have a meal nearby if you did want to venture out. Shops are also very nearby (a Lidl as you enter Portland, and a local co-op in Fortuneswell to name a couple) if you did want to cook - the Kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need! The location is great for the Coastal Path, which has clear signs to get you back to Castletown. We found ourselves walking 15 miles in a day which was exhausting, but taking in the gorgeous views made it so worth while. Our Favourite places: Chesil Chippie is delicious for a takeaway & is very nearby. Church Ope Cove is a gorgeous place along the Coastal Walk, definitely worth a visit! We also had a great meal at the Heights Hotel. We would not hesitate to go back or recommend Ann & Kay's, and Portland is a great place to go and explore in rain or shine! Thanks Both for an amazing stay! Sophie and Harry”
