“This cute little cottage is located about 20 minutes from the Hilo Airport. It's in a very quiet residential neighborhood at a dead end. You drive uphill for a bit so it's at a higher elevation where everything is cool in temperature and green. It's about 12 minutes from downtown Hilo where there are cute shops and restaurants. A car is definitely needed to get around unless hitchhiking or walking far is your thing. The cottage is like a small studio. You have a functional kitchen with 2 burners, a microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, and a larger mini fridge. There are plates, bowls, drinking glasses and coffee cups. There is no freezer. The queen sized bed was firm and very comfortable. There is no sofa but a comfy chair for one person and a place to eat with 2 high chairs. The bathroom is small but nice. The shower is big with a big supply of hot water. This place is best for a couple or a single person because privacy is a little hard to get. If one person get out of bed and starts moving around, it's hard not to wake the other person. The bathroom door is one of those sliding ones. It doesn't block out sound very well. You may hear the toilet flushing or the faucet running. My favorite part of this place was falling asleep to the sound of Coqui frogs and the rain falling. Then waking up to the birds singing. There wasn't an AC but it wasn't needed. It stayed cool all day and night. Roughly low to mid 60s and night and up to the mid 70s during the day. But we still used the quiet ceiling fan while we slept. We also made a new furry friend, Pam's cat named Sheba. A big thanks to Noreen (I hope that's her name) she takes care of Pam during the daytime. She was nice enough to do our laundry twice while we were out doing stuff.”

“Our one night stay at Jason and Virginia's place was amazing, and I wish we could have stayed longer. The guest suite has everything you would need during a trip to the Big Island, including beach towels, sunscreen, and umbrellas. The full kitchen was perfect for cooking with plenty of dishes, utensils, and sauces available. The bed was very comfortable as well. Our favorite part was the property. Jason and Virginia have created an oasis of fruit and palm trees! Last but not least, Jason's hospitality was unparalleled to any of our AirBnB experiences.”

We are surrounded by lots of local restaurants all within a 5-10 minute drive. There is plenty to do. Take a look at our photos, they are all originals taken by us.
“This space was stylish, immaculately clean and had everything I needed. Check in was simple, and the hosts respond very quickly. They provided me with great tips for foods and activities in and around Hilo. Plus they are at a nice location to access many different parts of the island. 10/10 would stay again!”
