Vacation rentals in Killaloe

This cottage was amazing. Exactly what we were looking for during this annual fall family trip. Clean and had everything we needed plus more, would definitely come back again!

Our cottage stay was the perfect mix of relaxation and excitement. From kayaking on the nearby lake, hiking scenic trails, to late-night board games and bonfires under the stars, every day was packed with activities we loved. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and fully stocked, making it easy to unwind after an active day. It was a well-spent getaway full of memories. we can’t wait to go back! Thomas and Tom were very accommodating hosts.

Michal is an excellent host who responds quickly and is very accommodating. Our family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our time there. With pool table, foosball, hot tub, sauna and large yard, there was lots to do for everyone, young and old.

This modern cottage is a treasure on a quiet lake in the perfect location to still be able to get groceries but feel like you’ve escaped the city. We will definitely book again.

The host responds very promptly. However, disposing of trash is a bit inconvenient as it takes about 15 minutes round trip, and you need to pay $3 per trash bag. It’s recommended to dispose of the trash before checking out, not after. If you have a friend waiting in the parking lot while you take out the trash, they might rush you. Communication with the host was smooth and responses were quick. I wouldn’t recommend staying here in the winter as the heating isn’t great. It would be nice if each bed came with a comfortable duvet rather than just blankets. When the outdoor temperature is 7°C, the bedrooms can feel cold, but everything else was good.

We came to ski for 3 days at Calabogie during March break. The location and view were ideal--a minute to the ski hill (that you can see through the trees out the main window) and parking was free and easy at the hill. This allowed us to come back to have lunch at the chalet and then return to the slopes in the afternoon. The chalet has several high end features--heated floors in kitchen and bathroom, and an induction stove and fancy microwave. it was nicer than we expected. We struggled a bit to figure out how everything worked (probably us, though--we have low tech stuff at home). The designer fridge and countertops and overall aesthetics of the kitchen are beautiful. The chairs were maybe a bit big and awkward to move around for the tight space they were in--was hard to get around them. That was a minor inconvenience, though--overall the space was a delight to be in.

We loved our stay at Joe’s cottage. Relaxing. We had a few kayak and canoe trips around the falls and lake. Wifi was super. Hot tub was great! Definitely not “roughing it”. Lots of bedding and towels. Would definitely recommend. Two adults and three teenagers. Everyone was happy. :)

Great place & host! Mickey was very responsive & helpful during our stay. Loved all the amenities & cooking utensils (including a cheese fondue!). Would definitely come back!
