You will be renting the entire Edo period doso.Relax in a hideaway near a convenience store.

We renovated a two-story storehouse built in the Edo period and made it into a guest house. Although it is not spacious, a kitchen with an IH cooking heater is installed on the first floor, while maintaining the atmosphere of a storehouse with its earthen walls and thick beams. The first and second floors are equipped with air conditioning for a comfortable stay. You can experience the sound insulation, summer coolness, and winter warmth unique to a storehouse. If you like, you can enjoy coffee made with freshly ground beans. Sister-gawa Onsen and Ibuki Yakuza-Yu are about 15 minutes away by car. We can provide you with a ticket for Sankawa Onsen (cheaper than the regular price). Please contact us about pick-up and drop-off. There are many tourist spots unique to Nagahama, which has often been the stage of history. Hikone Castle, a National Treasure, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Nagahama Castle, the birthplace of Ishida Mitsunari, one of Japan's leading mountain castles, Otaki, the site of the battle, and others. It is also less than 20 minutes by car to the Sekigahara Battlefield. In addition to the area around Lake Biwa, there are plenty of non-historical attractions such as Japan's oldest railway station building, Nagahama Railway Square, the Yanmar Museum where children can play, and Kurobane Square. You can also enjoy gourmet food such as Omi beef, duck cuisine, grilled mackerel somen, noodles, salad bread, duck, and small ayu.

[Natural sounds, starry sky] 10 people can stay! 1 group limited to 1 private 80-year-old old house villa, 200 tsubo garden also exclusive

For those who want to enjoy nature, this is an ECO Satoyama experiential traditional Japanese farmhouse. [The charm of the inn] It is a large old private inn built 80 years ago using the pure wood of the countryside. The most attractive feature is the quiet environment of a private rental in a dead-end village. There is a 200 square meter wooden house with a large 350 tsubo garden.Everything will be your own space. It's okay if the kids run around or the baby cries. You can also enjoy a BBQ under the blue sky.The eaves are large, and it is a pleasant environment where you can have a BBQ even if it rains.Outdoor equipment is also available for rent. Please feel free to contact us.* BBQs with 4 or more guests drinking alcohol are allowed until sunset. [Please] The "quiet" where you can only hear the sounds of nature at night is charming, but if adults make noise, it will be a nuisance and we will have to close. If you can't follow the rules, please refrain from staying. The more people there are, the more likely they are to complain, so we have limited it to 8 people, but you can stay more than that. [Important] We do not allow consecutive nights of 3 people or less during the GW, Obon, and New Year holidays.Even if your reservation is confirmed, we will request a cancellation.Thank you for your understanding. Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. The price is scheduled to increase from March 2026.
