Comfortable and cozy Farmhouse surrounded by nature and adjacent to the trails of Redwood National Park. Perfect location for exploring the Redwood Coast. Rental has a great room, full kitchen, Queen bedroom, bath, balcony and two sleeping lofts, which are accessed by ships ladders. Lofts recommended for children age 6 and older. There is a second vacation rental on the first floor reserved by one or two persons.

Fern Hook Vacation Cabins are located nearby Jedidiah Smith State Park in the tiny hamlet of Hiouchi, California. Indulge yourself in a private setting of magnificent redwoods carpeted with ferns. Our newly constructed cabins with full kitchens will provide deluxe accommodations while you enjoy this natural wonderland. We are pet friendly, but require a 30$ per pet fee, for each reservation.

Sylvan Harbor Cabin 3

Built in the 1940s, Cabin 3 has been modestly updated but maintains a rustic, rough-around-the-edges feel. There are some eccentricities, such as the cabin bedroom does not have a door. It has all the essentials for an extended stay. It is cozy, clean and functional providing a nice, quiet base for relaxing and enjoying the local beauty.

Little Buttermilk Cottage

Our renovated, quaint, studio cottage is a 10 minute walk to the Redwoods, 5 minutes to shops and a short drive to the beach. Little Buttermilk Cottage is nestled in a private garden setting in the quiet neighborhood of Sunny Brae. It is a modern, clean, secluded retreat located in a forested area of a quiet neighborhood between Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata and scenic coastlines and majestic redwoods. 2025 update: all new staircase for easier access to the loft.
