Vacation rentals in Kumage District

Retreat house was a great visit with plenty of supplies covering small things needed in the trip!! The whole house was spotless including the toilets. The host was prompt to any queries we had.

A nice simple house in nature, very private and secluded. We enjoyed going to the beach and sitting on the deck looking out at the sea and all the green of Yakushima. The host was super helpful and generous especially when our ferry was cancelled and we had to wait a few days to get to the island. Thank you!

Mike's house is consistently built and decorated in Japanese style, wonderfully quiet location, sea view, terrace, plenty of space and equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable, cook, relax. We stayed there for 4 nights and felt super comfortable. However, it is advisable to have a rental car to be flexible on the island; Mike also supported us there with the rental, everything worked out great. Were our most relaxing days in Japan here!

We loved every minute of our stay. The cottage is located away from the main road within a beautiful forest (a small creek you can bathe in!) and a tea plantation (a car is recommended). Kayoko left clear instructions and the check in was simple. The cottage has a beautiful view of the sea from the porch area, which we enjoyed sitting on before and after our hikes. The place is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you could need. Although there isn’t a full kitchen, we managed to cook simple dishes with the combo-microwave. We only stayed for three nights but could have stayed for much longer. We’ll always remember it as a special place and hope we can return here one day! Thank you Kayoko :)

I will be staying in Yakushima, and if you have a rental car, I definitely recommend this place.️ It's a place that meets all the expectations for Airbnb.🥹 Yakushima's restaurant closed early, and it quickly became full, so it was difficult to eat out. However, there was a grocery store near the accommodation, so it was easy to procure food, and it was nice to be able to cook and eat because it was equipped with cutlery and seasonings. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean, so it was a comfortable time. The host was responsive and friendly. It was nice that they even provided information on nearby restaurants and amenities. I want to stay again next time I come to Yakushima!!

Cameron’s place is absolutely stunning, we completely fell in love with it the moment we arrived. The interiod design is beautiful, with so much attention to detail, and the whole house feels incredibly warm and welcoming. It’s also very spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and feel comfortable. The beds were super comfy, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep. Honestly, the house looks even better in person than in the listing photos, which is saying a lot! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
