Hotel vacation rentals in Kumamoto

While I was backpacking in Kyushu, I was deliberately avoiding to stay in major cities to reduce the risk of Covid. Hence finding this hotel in Yatsushiro was an absolute gem! There's a limousine bus that'll takes you directly to this hotel from Kumamoto Airport, so the transportation was surprisingly easy. The check-in was smooth & the room was very clean. I loved the fact that all the amenities that I needed was there -- there are restaurants within the hotel & nearby, they'll let you use a lounge wear while you use their amazing public bath (or you can use your own bathtub in your own room), and wash all of your clothes in the coin laundry & dryer (detergent is available at the front desk.) What a lifesaver when you just came back from hiking in Mt. Aso. Next morning, I've walked along the Mae River (~1.5km) to and watched wildlife on the way to the nearby Yatsushiro Station. I had the most relaxing time in Yatsushiro, and I'd like to visit here again.

It was very friendly and the space for the 3-person room was spacious. Conveniently located in the heart of the city with good access to restaurants. After all, I was personally happy to have a piano to play at all times.

probably the most beautiful hostel I have ever stayed at. of course it's a hostel, your can either go into the shared room or get a tiny private room. toilets, kitchen, etc. are shared, just as you'd expect. Everything was clean and oh my gosh the collection of decoration was amazing! I had so much fun looking at everything. there are three areas to relax, kitchen, a "common room"(with mangas, two PCs, a massage chair, etc) and the roof. the roofgarden looks beautiful but it was too cold while I stayed. you can do laundry for 300 yen, and so on. I had a great time and my only sorrow was that they stopped doing the dying of fabrics. the host was really helpful and kind but runs the place alone so I can see why it's stopped. anyway she was always ready to give tips. I was kindly allowed to drop off my luggage before check in. The hostel is only a short distance from the city center, be it the castle or the gazillion restaurants.

Just wow!!! I was expecting a room and got an entire apartment. The view onto the lake is amazing, and it changes throughout the day, depending on the light. The entire building is new. The downstairs is a coworking space, also with great views. Takashi thought of everything, from emergency food to having maps on hand. I was really impressed.

The place ist very unique. really beautiful upcycle building in very nice scenery around. Host is really nice and took great care of me, was flexible and friendly. design and quality of the place is also exceptional. the food in the cafe downstairs was also great - local ingredients in local recipes prepared with great care. will definitely stay again, if will come around this area.

Perfect spot for if you’re looking for a one night stay in between your travels. Pretty easy to find since I had a rental car and check in was smooth and friendly. Clean and spacious even for a family. No complaints here.
