“Eleonora was an excellent and welcoming host. She gave helpful travel suggestions, spoke perfect English, and made an incredible breakfast every morning. The house was clean and the surroundings were very relaxing. Helpful tips for future travelers: We would recommend renting a car (about 80 euros for 4 days for an automatic) but make sure you reserve the car in advance and read the fine print about pick up times. Driving in the city is stressful, driving around the countryside is fine. It is about 55 euros to take a cab from Florence to the house. The bus is very easy to catch right outside Eleonora’s house. It’s a 55 min scenic ride to the city and costs 7 euros round trip. All in all, a rental car gives a lot of flexibility and you are able to explore all the vineyards in the area at your own leisure.”
La Felce Country House is a typical Tuscan country house. It is located 15 kilometres from Florence, amidst the Tuscan hills, with extensive private grounds. The beautiful swimming pool and the garden around it are only for the exclusive use of the occupants of the only flat to rent.
“Cristina is an amazing, kind and generous person. From the first time we met her, she made us feel at home. We were 2 couples who stayed for 7 nights and everything was perfect. The house was spacious and sparkling clean and exactly as advertised. The pictures don't do the house justice. There was more than enough room for 2 couples to have their own space. The treats, food in the fridge and bottles of wine upon our arrival were a great touch. She is quick to respond to any request we had and was great in helping us navigate through Florence and Tuscany. She gave us places to go, where to park and what to do in the various areas we visited. Her place was well equipped with everything you could need and if you needed something Cristina was sure to get it for you. The house is situated back from the road and it makes you feel as if you are in the country, peacefully surrounded by nature yet Florence is only 25 minutes away by car and a pleasant drive. I would recommend her place to anyone visiting Tuscany.”
Podere Staelli: "La Scala". Wonderful panoramic view.
“Monica and Pierangelo are brilliant hosts. Their home is comfortable and as described on airbnb. They supply you with olive oil, spaghetti , tomatoes, chianti and whatever fruits are in season. We enjoyed garlic, cayenne pepper, fresh figs straight from the tree. If you like olive oil, then you will drink this like wine (we did), it is unbelievable and taste of almonds. The view is gorgeous and you have views of the mountains and olive trees. If you are unlucky like me you will have 27 mosquito bites in your first 2 days. However, they do provide plenty of repellents to try and ward these off. We did have trouble finding it, so make sure you speak to them prior to your holiday ensuring that you understand the directions and can read the map. Google, iPhone and sat nav are no help whatsoever. It is difficult to find but once explained, it is much easier. We found heading for San Michele was the easiest route. Pierangelo will explain in detail if you ask him. Enjoy your holiday.”
