“The yurt is a fantastic getaway. It’s located on a beautiful plot of land that gives you a lot of peace and privacy. We really enjoyed the cedar hot tub, and fire pit. Wood was supplied for the hot tub and we bought our own wood for the fire pit, although there was also wood to forage for if needed. Eddie was around to help us bring our supplies to the yurt site, which was very helpful, as the hike to the yurt would have been a challenge with all our stuff. He was so helpful and kind during our stay, and was very responsive when we needed him. A pleasant surprise was the composting toilet and shower area. I had never used a composting toilet, but it was really easy and clean. No smell at all. The shower was great as well. Warmed up very fast and some body wash was supplied, which was great cause I had forgotten mine. My suggestion to others that rent the yurt is to coordinate with Eddie and Liam on your arrival time, and if they are not around to help you get your stuff to the yurt, pack light.”
My house was constructed new and is about 1/4 mile from the lake. The view from the kitchen living room and dining room is overlooking a brambling brook across the street. If you saunter out onto the deck perhaps you can even hear it. This is a perfect headquarters to discover the wonders of the back mountain, Ricketts Glen or the urban ambiance of Wilkes-Barre. Scranton and it's mine tours not to mention world class Pizza known as old forge style is not far away either. Relax and enjoy.
“This is a very charming place, just off Harvey's Lake. It's an area we hadn't been to in years, and it was fun to be back there. Wish we'd have had more time to spend around the lake. William was a very helpful host.”
An experiential gathering place for creative thinkers and adventurous people seeking a true Scrantonian encounter.
“We would definitely stay again! The place is charming and cozy, with a comfortable bed and chairs. If is recommended for anyone who wants a quiet place to work or retreat from the noise of the day. It was conveniently located and kitchen appliances are new, though the space is older and with character. Art, books and photographs are thoughtfully placed, and there are interesting things to read. We also walked to a couple nearby cafes.”
