“Absolutely beautiful cottage! Has everything you need to make yourself right at home. Very spacious and very clean. The kingsize bed and sofas were extremely comfortable, exactly what you need after a long hike around Dorset. Went in October and had the pleasure of having logs for the built in fire place which really added to the perfect getaway touch! A local pub 5 minute walk down the road and a 15 minute drive from the centre of Weymouth, a perfect little spot to be away from the busy roads but not too far that it becomes a chore to do anything. Recommend this so highly that I will be booking again next time I want a trip around the Weymouth area.”
Modern double bed studio with bath/shower room and open plan kitchen/lounge. Beautiful seaviews over the fleet and jurassic coast. Only 2 miles from Weymouth beach and a few strides from the south west coastal footpath. We are in walking distance of 5 public houses and restaurants and have ample parking. If your here for the breathtaking seaview walks or the attractions that weymouth has to offer you have found the right place.
“We had an absolutely amazing stay at Nicky’s lovely little apartment! Extremely clean with everything you need for a short stay. Nicky even left a card and bubbly for me as it was my birthday which was much appreciated. Very close proximity to the South West coastal path, a stunning part of the world. Would highly recommend.”
Although recently built, this building actually seems older than the farmhouse it's next to. With oak beamed roof trusses and stone walls inside and out there is a sense of permanence about this place. Shortlake Cottage is located just off a quiet no-through-road and looks out over fields to the coast beyond. As well as the views, the SW Coastpath is nearby for walks into Weymouth (3m) and Lulworth Cove (7m). Osmington village with The Sly Fox pub, and a couple of small shops, is about a 5 minutes walk away. The walk to Shortlake Farm's private beach takes just 10 minutes or so across the fields.
“Shortlake Cottage was absolutely delightful, simply and stylish with lovely features and gorgeous views from the upstairs family room. We stayed here with our 3 year old and 3 month old and had everything we needed to feel happy and at home for a few days. We walked down to the beach which was about 20 minutes (maybe a bit more coming back up!) The beach was deserted except for us and really gorgeous. The cottage is ideally located for sights such as Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, etc as well as towns Weymouth and Dorchester being easy drives away. Peter was easy to get in touch with and very helpful on the couple of occasions we needed him too, I would recommend both the cottage and Peter himself as a host. We ate in most nights in the well equipped kitchen but enjoyed a fantastic meal at the nearby Smugglers Inn on our last night which we would recommend also. ****** LOVED IT! 😊”
