Our barn is well situated between London and Cornwall, and is on the cycle route from Land's End to John o' Groats. We offer peaceful, simple accommodation, in a converted barn. The decor is simple, eclectic and stylish, possibly shabby chic. The building is spacious yet intimate , with a comfortable bed, cosy sofa, and a wood burner. The barn is completely separate from the main house where we live, by about 30m. Although we are mostly here, the barn feels very secluded.
“The Hideaway is a truly special place. The location is beautiful, the hosts are helpful and the space is cosy but airy and has so much character. We are so grateful for the suggestions we were given, do visit Stranglers Bay, it was one of the most beautiful places/walks we have ever seen. I particularly liked that we felt comfortable and at home but also had our privacy. Our holiday was a little slice of heaven and I can not recommend enough.”
Characterful three storey cottage forming the end part of our 300 year old Devon cob Farmhouse. The cottage features a modern kitchen, huge Inglenook fireplace with log burner, luxurious wool carpets, low beams, big squashy sofa and a superking size master bed with pretty adjoining twin room on the very top floor. The cottage's own garden has two decked seating areas. Set in glorious rolling countryside near Dartmoor, Devon's gorgeous sandy beaches and the vibrant cathedral city of Exeter.
“We loved our stay at Penelope's cottage - the little garden was the highlight, so quiet and west facing, so perfect for evenings watching the sun set and drinking a nice cold glass of wine. The very friendly cat and chickens made it even more enjoyable. Inside the kitchen has all the amenities you would need and the sofas in the lounge our super snuggly, and with the fire roaring it feels like a world a way from the hum drum of modern life. The mattress on the king bed is amazing and the bedroom spaces are big and airy. All round a great place and we are already planning our trip back for next year”

“Fish Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. It is an absolutely beautiful home, with stunning original features and some modern touches to enhance the stay (amazing bathroom!). We spent our evenings cosying up by the fire which was magical. The garden is exceptional. Fish Cottage is a classic case of somewhere that looks great in the photos, but is even better in real life. Our friends joined us for one night and there is an abundance of space for 4 people. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, the perfect country cottage.”
