Plenty of space for relaxing, picnics, or watching the deer, turkeys, birds, and squirrels. Welcome to Carriage House 1840. The carriage house is on the property of one of Historic Downtown Lancaster's oldest homes and only steps away from museums, restaurants and all that downtown Lancaster has to offer. The carriage house was built around 1840 and is the original structure updated with modern luxury amenities. Upon entering the carriage house, you will be met with a fully equipped kitchen and a full private bath, then proceed up the stairs to the loft portion and enjoy your stay.

The Stargazer is a perfect staycation/vacation cottage, welcoming guests to stay on a 68 acre tree farm with 8 Nigerian dwarf goats, 6 sheep & three chubby dogs. The farm was recently quoted by Vinton Soil Water Conservation as a wildlife mecca, perfect for anyone looking to reconnect with nature & relax. Various species of birds, hawks, owls, deer, wild turkeys, geese & occasional bobcat may be spotted. By booking a stay, you are agreeing to make a donation to The Stargazer Trust.

The Cottage

This is a rural location. Located on an open hill along a private drive, this newly built -"little house on the prairie"- is surrounded by fields on one end and woods on the other. Nothing but stars at night -no neighbors nearby. Trails and ponds are available for your enjoyment. Swimming* and fishing is encouraged in the warmer months. A small outdoor fire ring is nearby. Hiking in the woods on the far side of the field will be off limits last week of October through thanksgiving.

Athens County is rich in beauty, opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, local artisans and entrepreneurs, amazing food and beverages, and home to Ohio University. Although we are only 15 mins from Uptown Athens, we provide a great escape from the hustle and bustle of our small city, nestled in the woods.

Burr Oak Cabin

Burr Oak Cabin is nestled into the woods of Burr Oak State Park. Just a short walk or drive to Burr Oak Lake where you can enjoy fishing (license required), hiking, or boating. Hiking trails include various state park trails, the American Discovery Trail or the Buckeye Trail. Put in your own boat at the Dock 1 boat ramp (9.9 hp limit) or rent a kayak, canoe, fishing boat or pontoon boat. Rentals available April through October. We have wifi with a Roku smart Tv to stream.

Enjoy the craftsman woodwork throughout, including a gas fireplace, fully appointed kitchen and cozy loft. In warmer months, the outdoor gazebo is perfect for morning coffee or a picnic. Please note that the cottage is on the same property as the Rockmill Farmhouse.
