My Cute Little House

Set in the heart of Verteuil a petite citie de caractere in the Charente we welcome you to Ma jolie petite maison, a one double bedroomed gite that sleeps 4. The building is over 200 years old and has been completely refurbished in 2024. With exposed stone walls and original fireplaces, lit by vintage French chandeliers and tasteful wall lights, the gite is both cosy and comfortable. During your stay you will have exclusive use of the heated swimming pool and a large Moroccan style barn.

This idyllic French stone house can sleep up to five people. It has two bedrooms, a large living room with a woodburner, a fitted kitchen with a large dining table and two shower rooms, one on each floor. The rear bedroom has a balcony that overlooks the garden with a ruined abbey and the Charentaise countryside beyond. Outside there's a summer kitchen, a small terrace and a lawned garden. The village has a delightful cake shop, a popular restaurant, artisanal stores and a museum.

In the family for eight generations, this former farmhouse,located in the heart of the Saintonge, has retained its authenticity and charm. You will stay in my newly restored grandmother's former stable. Lovers of nature and tranquility, you will share our farmhouse with cats, chickens and rabbits. Games, toys, books are available. Also 2 minutes away is a restaurant (closed on Mondays) as well as a bakery and 2 grocery stores. Our home located in the countryside will bring you peace and quiet and a change of scenery.
