Vacation rentals in Mesão Frio

This was a absolutely stunning place. We were greeted by the family and host who were so friendly and welcoming. The space is so special, they’ve thought about every detail and made a very homely place in a old and characterful building. The animals and stream by the house were the cherry on top. Highly recommend

It’s a bit of a drive off the beaten path to get there (car GPS had no problem) but well worth the drive! A lovely vineyard with spectacular views from every angle! Even though we were there in mid Oct, went for a very refreshing swim in the pool that is steps away from our room. Just a short walk away is a lovely waterfall on the grounds. Sonia lives on site - she is a gem. She does all the cleaning as well as offers laundry service (for a very small fee). The place was spotless & well appointed. We were provided with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereal, several cartons of milk & juice, butter, jams, ham & cheese. We also were provided with copious amounts of a variety of fruit (oranges & kiwi grown right there in the vineyard) The piece de resistance were the homemade (by Sonia) rolls and croissants we received every morning - they were the bomb!! Enough food for us to enjoy for breakfast & lunch! Stay here. It will NOT disappoint.

We had a wonderful night in our room at Philippe and Inès's! They are incredibly kind and welcoming. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, a real moment of sharing and conviviality. The room was extremely clean, nothing to say, everything was perfect from start to finish. A place we recommend without so much as a second thought!

We stayed in this house for a week and we only have good things to say. Fast and flexible check-in. Spacious rooms, impeccably clean and very well-equipped house. Very large outdoor area with an excellent swimming pool. Finally, I would like to highlight Catarina's friendliness/availability, which was undoubtedly another of the highlights of this stay. We'll be back for sure!

Our stay at Cristina's went very well. We were in a real paradise. The location is wonderful with the bird 's-eye view of the Douro. Each outdoor space is very well laid out. The equipment in the house is very complete. Nela who greeted us is very available. She was there to pick up and take our luggage to the villa when we arrived. She had prepared us for the first morning a great breakfast. Cristina our host is very responsive with every request. We had a great week with our family. We recommend this place for a stay for families or groups of friends.

Extremely warm welcome in a remarkable site. Everything is beautiful and pleasant. The boss of the cafe below speaks a little French and offers some basic necessities with great kindness. Otherwise, you have to think about shopping beforehand, for a quiet stay! We recommend this property unreservedly!
