In 2018, it was completely renovated and equipped with a new kitchen, lovely beds and floor heating. The best thing is that it is in the middle of the trees. All the freedom on our own 1100m2 property! From the cottage you can walk into the woods in 5 minutes. Gees is centrally located in Drenthe: Emmen, the beautiful Orvelte and the shops of Hoogeveen are 20 minutes by car.

Huisje op de Hei is located behind our farm on more than a hectare of land, in a protected nature reserve just outside Dwingeloo in Drenthe. A special place, because you literally walk up the heath from our yard. No traffic, no neighbors, no crowds. The adventure begins on arrival, because to reach our cottage you have to drive a little kilometer along a sandy road. This road is not accessible to traffic. It's not much quieter in the Netherlands!

Enjoy the Ruiner Aa stream valley in peace in this beautiful place. The cozy shepherd's hut has all the comforts. Nearby nature reserves (Dwingelderveld and Ruinerbos) and the village of Ruinen can be reached within 10 minutes by bike. Get in the canoe (free use) and explore the creek valley from the water. Start the day with breakfast on the wooden porch and end the day by a fire basket under the stars.
