We built this secluded, comfortable little house in 1995 to create a retreat from the pressures of everyday life. Now we share its beauty with others looking for a quiet space that feels more like having your own cabin than a hotel or rental. Enjoy!
“This is a beautiful cabin tucked back in the woods. I had to remove a small tree that fell over the long dirt driveway, and drove over the bear poop. Keep driving and you come to the cute A frame cabin. The inside inside is open and airy, with many windows to look out into the forest or down to the river. Nice deck to sit out on and take in the fresh air. The place was clean when we arrived other than the windows, but who is going to clean the windows. We hope to stay here again in the winter. Tons of stuff to do in the area, lakes, rivers, hiking, fishing.”
This cozy cabin provides a perfect getaway and is a gem in all seasons, especially during the fall colors or a blowing winter storm. Timber frame cabin built on a hilltop, on 20 acres of old growth maples. Walls of glass, a screened in porch and a wrap around deck bring the outdoors inside. The ridge top location has spectacular views through the trees - with lake views after the leaves drop. The property also boasts a fantastic wood fired cedar sauna - perfect for rejuvenating.
“We got to hike Kudance River (highly recommend) and Devil's Kettle. The welcome booklet was EXTREMELY HELPFUL, as we did not have GPS signal and drove around with the booklet everyday for reference! Everything was easy to use and clean. We only made the crazy drive up the last hill once to empty the car.... every time after that we parked down at Tom Lake Rd. It is not very car friendly and it had rained overnight, but the walk up is beautiful. We used one can of bug/tick spray and did not get a single woodtick. We spent time at the cabin reading all the books we found, and playing chess. Used the Sauna once, and it was so nice! Had a campfire the same night and boy did those mosquitoes disappear! Got a lot of use out of the screened in porch, and the outhouse is very close to the cabin. Overall the experience was fantastic, just what we needed and we would stay again!!”
The Adventure Studio is like stepping into a treehouse that boasts stunning views and a cozy relaxing deck overlooking 200' of shoreline on a great fishing lake. Inside enjoy views from two full walls of windows, a skylight and vaulted ceilings. Well appointed kitchen for a several day stay. A fire pit, pedal boat, paddleboards, wooded acreage, a mile long nature hiking, biking trail and access to other adventures. All on a quiet tree lined road, perfect for peaceful strolls at sunset.
“We had a great time staying at John and Carna’s Adventure Studio. The space was sunny, bright and very comfortable for our family of four. Everything was very clean and felt like it had just been built out. The photos of the studio are very good, but it still felt bigger than I expected it to. We spent a lot of time on the private dock, the lake was very clear and deep off of the dock. We swam, and the kids played on the foam “lilly pad”. We caught a lot of Largemouth Bass, Sunfish, and a Northern Pike off of the dock. The four of us also took a tour of most of the lake on the pedal boat. On the second day, we drove over to the Cuyuna mountain bike trails and had a lot of fun exploring the trails in an area that we hadn’t been to yet. John and Carna were great hosts, very nice, friendly, and helpful. They were very good in communicating clearly and often, and were available whenever we needed anything. We would definitely stay in the Adventure Studio again.”
